Band Parties and Thanksgiving Dinner Part 1 and 2

The night before Thanksgiving, Randy and I went to see a band "The Electric Company" that is made up of guys I went to high school with. They were doing a reunion show and it was a lot of fun. My girls from work (and those who used to be at work) came and we had so much fun!!
Mary Holland, Mary, Sarah, me, Liz, and English

Little Santa makes a mess while she eats.

Before going to Nanas to celebrate Thanksgiving we had some photo moments on the stairs.

Thanksgiving was DELICIOUS!!! and the company was wonderful. Grammy and Delaney were super cute together.

Thanksgiving Dinner Part 2 was at Jackie's house. Before we went Delaney decided to model her fancy Turkey Day outfit and her goggles.

The goggles were traded for her sunglasses and Delaney gets excited about the holidays as she points out Hannukah troll in her Judakitsch book that she loves.

There was still time left to pose with Santa Elmo...

...and her alligator Grammy bought her in New Orleans...Henry...prounounced "hen-ri" because he is French.

The Lights at Saluda Shoals Park

We went to Saluda Shoals Park to see all of the beautiful Christmas lights. The night we went was the only night where you could walk through---otherwise you have to drive. It is totally worth it to walk and we had so much fun! The weather was nice but a little drizzly. It made for nice photo effects because it looked like snow.

My friend Danielle and her husband Clif met up with us and they showed their sweet tooth.

Bananas and Turkeys

Delaney's new favorite toy is this ridiculous stuffed banana that I won her at The State Fair this year. She sleeps with it, hugs it nonstop, and even tries to take it in the bath with her. The other day I caught her trying to ride it like a pony. Wow.

Delaney got all suited up to go to my Shandon Turkey Trot 8K race. Before we left, she showed us how she can do the Moonwalk. I don't have a video yet, but yes, she does the actual Michael Jackson moonwalk. My child is the shizzle.

I did great in the run. It was a 5-miler and my time was 39:10. I came in 19 out of 77 women, which I think was pretty good. There were some real serious runners there that day. The course was really stupid---you did a great 2.5 miles, nice and flat, and then at the end you did the same 2.5 miles again. With all of Shandon to run in, I thought that was pretty stupid. Oh well. Delaney and I hugged the nice turkey they had at the end.

18 month old Cool Chick and Oysters

Delaney had her 18 month old checkup this week. Everything is great and she continues to be a tall skinny minny!! 22 pounds 8 oz (23%), 33 3/4" (78%).

Miss Thing likes to wear her sunglasses on her head like her mommy.

We thought this pic of the dogs was hilarious. Just hangin' with Elmo.

We went to the SC Oyster Festival this weekend and met up with my friends Liz and Mary. Jackie was there too and we had a great time! Delaney managed to sucker her daddy into going down one of those dreaded inflatable slides again. I secretly thinks Randy loves it.

Delaney hadn't seen Liz in a while but immediately became best friends with her and wanted her to show her around the festival.

Always the lady....Delaney enjoys some mint chocolate chip ice cream.

I LOVE this dress ----thank you Jean!!! I know that it has lobsters on it..but that was the closest thing to oysters I could find.

The 24 hour stomach bug affected our family this past weekend and THANK GOD it did not hit Delaney. It hit me first, then Randy...and then unfortuanetly my friend Mary who we saw at the oyster festival. It was a pretty nasty 24 hours but, on the bright side, I lost 4 pounds.

New Orleans

Me and Randy and mom and Nutty went to New Orleans for my Uncle Jordan (closer to my age uncle) and Sarah's wedding. They actually live in Philadelphia--but who wants to go to Philadelphia in November for a wedding? They picked New Orleans and everyone they invited came. Of course!!! Who would miss it?

You might notice that Delaney is not captured in any pictures. That is because we left her in SC. It was a hard choice---but we thought it might be difficult bringing a 1 year old to a scheduled wedding weekend in New Orleans. We missed her very much, but looking back on the weekend, it was good we didn't bring her. We had a wonderful time and Delaney was very well taken care of by Debbie, Nana, Kathleen, Chris, and the girls. Thank you all!!! It takes an army doesn't it???

When we arrived we went immediately to the Acme Oyster House and stuffed our faces with raw oysters and etouffee and crawfish puppies. It was delicious!! Not sure what mom is doing here..oh yeah...the horseradish was spicy.

New Orleans was having Police Appreciation Day over the weekend. We chose not to celebrate that.

We met up with Jordan and Sarah and some of their friends at Pat O'Brians for a beverage. I didn't get their signature drink, The Hurricane, because it was only 1:00 and I needed to be upright for the rehearsal dinner that evening.

Jordan's good friend John and his girlfriend Lisa.

The Roberts having some beverages

Randy found this punching game inside a bar on Bourbon Street. Isn't he macho?

The rehearsal dinner was at the Crescent City Brewhouse. Jordan started off the toasts with a welcome and thank you.

Hee hee. This place is called the "Spicy Dark Boutique". Couldn't miss a photo op with mom and that one.

Beautiful day downtown on the water.

Mom and Nutty pose in front of Jackson Square.

Chatting it up with someone who will listen to me.

We met up with mom and Nutty's cousin Neil and Debbie's daughter (get that?) Melanie who just started at Tulane this year. She brought her friend and we enjoyed drinks and catching up at this cool outside cafe.

Mom decided our waiter was her new fiance. They had really big glasses of wine....

Randy stuffs his face with a muffaletta.

Nutty stuffs her face with soft-shelled crab while Randy inspects his glass.

The availability of alcoholic beverages on every corner in New Orleans causes you to pose underneath flower pictures, thinking you look sweet and blissful.

THE WEDDING!!! The ceremony was in a courtyard behind the restaurant Broussard. Sarah's dress was absolutely beautiful.

The officiant was very good and got tearful when speaking of the strength and love that comes from New Orleans after the storm.

John did a reading from Dr. Suess' "Oh the Places You Will Go". It was just perfect.

The reception was at a fabulous restaurant called Muriels. The food was amazing and there was little men walking around with fancy little treats on trays. The weather was beautiful and there was a great balcony outside where we could sit and look out at Jackson Square. Jordan and Sarah did their first dance.

Mom and Randy had a little dance together.

Jordan and Sarah had a beautiful cake and they were quite tame with it.
