While driving home the other day, I turned around to find that Delaney had shoved two pacis into her mouth. She thought she was quite funny.
Do you think this is a sign that we should start now to try and get rid of the paci?
I shall try and make my fracture story short. Here we go: On Monday morning I went running like I usually do, and I rolled my ankle twice, which was unusual for me, but it didn't hurt and I continued on my run. This was at 5:30 AM. At 11:30 AM, I went to lunch with a friend and was fine walking to the restaurant. When leaving the restaurant, I was in so much pain I could barely breathe. I went back to work but could not function, and went to my doctor to see what was going on. He diagnosed me with a runner's stress fracture and said I would probably be okay in a couple of days. I went home with crutches and put an ice pack on my foot for several hours. Going to bed I was still in pain. The next morning when I woke up...all of the pain was gone!!! I think I am Spiderman----but Randy said I am like Wolverine who also heals quickly. Yay!!! I will not run for a week to continue the healing but so far so good!
Mom came over that night and she and Delaney played while I iced my foot.
Delaney likes to take apart one of her shape sorters and make them "hats" and she gave Grammy one while she made a quick phone call.

Lifechance Ballet 2010
One of the ballet companies in town, the Columbia Classical Ballet, does a wonderful event every year called Lifechance. They use their company and then bring in other dancers from across the country for a big benefit show to raise money for a particular charity each year. This year they picked my work, the Palmetto Children's Hospital Special Care Center! Yay! A dollar from every ticket went to us and then a donor matched that! The ballet company gave the staff free tickets and the girls had a lovely evening out at the ballet!
Before the ballet began, our director Janice got up and spoke and 5 of the children in our program got on stage. They were so cute!!!!

Delaney and her potty
We are continuing on her quest to have Delaney potty trained. She requires a little coaxing right now to sit on the potty without her pants and diaper on---but nothing an MnM or book won't help with. She is reminding me of all the stories my mom told about me when I was little. She said I would sit on the potty for hours with a stack of books. I think my little Mini-Me is just like me.

Delaney and Cocky Part 4012
Delaney continues to love her musical Cocky and Elmo. Capturing her dancing with one of them is difficult, but I promise she does it! She definitely can say "Cocky" now and loves to dance to the Gamecock Fight Song.

Delaney and her pot
Delaney loves the singing flower pot I got for Chanukah. It sings "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" whenever it needs water. Before an actual flower was placed in it, Delaney loved to push the button on it and hear it sing and she sings along. We have discovered Delaney has a certain genre of music she likes----James Taylor, Crosby Stills and Nash, etc... and now....the "Raindrop" guy. If we hear any of that type of music when we are out and about, like in Publix, she starts jamming. It is hilarious.

Leaving the Mountains
Delaney tries on my snow pants before heading out to the cold.
On our day we were leaving the mountains for New Year's weekend, it started snowing! Delaney liked to run and then slide on the ice. The camera died before catching her dying laughing while Randy slid her around all over on the ice. It was hysterical.
While packing up to go, Delaney has a piece of toast while sitting on Eliza's potty. She has become a bit obsessed with the potty lately. That has not consisted of her actually going to the potty, but sitting on it with her clothes on. She will occasionally sit on it without pants, but still no action. We are working on it....

New Years Day
We headed out on New Year's Day to enjoy all of the snow on the ground.
Before we realized the tops to the Rubbermaid containers worked much better than the actual containers, Delaney got a couple of runs down the hill. I don't think I have ever seen a bigger smile on a child in my entire life.
Eliza chases Randy up the hill.
Eliza and Drew pose on the big hill past our house.
Playing in the snow.
Eliza and Drew make snow angels.
English with her cute earmuffs.
Delaney and I tackle the hill.
Drew, Eliza, and English
The Crosby family has a snowball fight.
It's a wonder the child can even walk with all that gear on.
Instead of a snowball, Randy finds a big chunk 'o ice.
Delaney holds her "snowball".
They are so cute walking together. I love it.
Delaney tried on Drew's cowboy boots and they were obviously uncomfortable which could be the reason for this face here.
Eliza's felt a bit better.
These boots are made for walking.....
English initiated a rolling ball game with the kids...Eliza wasn't too happy about it.
Delaney snags the ball.
More adult time with cards after the kids went to bed.
Silly English wearing my snuggly hat.
Steve smiles for the cam.
