The Diva gets ready to walk the dogs.
This has been a good week. Not much to report. Randy got started with his tennis team again a couple of weeks ago and won his first match (singles) last week. I joined a team (The Backhand Babes) and will be playing my first doubles match in a couple of hours. Yikes!!!! I am nervous but excited at the same time. Delaney is basically non-stop talking right now. Her favorite saying is "I'm done", and if it is repeated too many times I like to tell her that "No...I'm done." She will say she is done to just about anything---including the person she is talking to. Every night she has her 30 minutes of TV and it is always Yo Gabba Gabba. If you haven't watched that show...please do. The whole Roberts family enjoys it and if that shows makes it here live you better believe we will be front and center. Whether Delaney can go or not.....:)

Bye Bye Ms. Melissa!!! :(
Delaney's assistant teacher at daycare, Ms. Melissa, is moving to Charleston and her last day was today. One of the parents brought her balloons and the kids had fun chasing each other around the room with them.
There was a goodbye party for Melissa with lots of tasty treats including cupcakes, cheese puffs, and grapes. Callie gets her plate while Abby and Blake wait for theirs.
Sarah Beth is excited about her cupcake coming!
Delaney demonstrates her caveman techniques by eating her cupcake with no hands.
Ms. Melissa poses with Delaney. She has been an excellent teacher and we will miss her!
Delaney and Callie jam to the music until Delaney decides to throw her maracas into the air. Everyone is excited watching the kids dance and when those maracas go...you can hear everyone go.."Oh...ooh" in that disappointed tone. Sorry folks....that's what cupcakes do to my child.
After the day's festivities, Delaney, Randy and I brought Greek food over to my mom's house to eat. Delaney was obviously on a sugar high from the party, and climbed in the toy bucket.
I think I described in an earlier post that Delaney is obsessed with putting her boots on. Well she is also obsessed with wearing her hat and gloves inside the house. Silly girl.
I tried to get a good pic of our new pets Yeti and Mr. T. It is fuzzy but you can sort of see Yeti on the left and Mr. T on the right.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Delaney opens her Valentine's Day present from me which was a new bath toy. Yay!!! Lots of fun reusable stickers of cars and trucks to build roads and stuff on the walls of the bath tub. She loves it!!
Randy trumped me as usual with his Valentine's present which was a small aquarium with two mini frogs in it. Delaney loves her "ribbits". We named them "Yeti" and "Mr. T". Yeti because his feet are so big like Big Foot, and Mr. T after one of my favorite books...The Wind in the Willows....good 'ol Mr. Toad.
Randy bought Delaney a new turtle that we named "Shelley".
Damn it feels good to be a gangsta....
We have been trying the no diaper thing on the weekends. On this day of love....it worked!!!! (Story below might be a little TMI for you. If you don't care about reading about potty stuff then go for it).Delaney pee-peed on the floor and got very upset and then Randy raced her to her little potty and she had a little tiny poopy!!! We were so excited!!! Later that day, Delaney was being a little clingy and I was holding her and I felt something coming...I raced her to the potty and she pooped right in the potty!!! It was a moment of celebration with hugging and lots of Dora stickers. I must honestly say that I don't think Delaney is truly ready quite yet....she doesn't mind the diapers being wet or dirty AT ALL and if we have her diaper off for a while she waits until it is back on to go to the bathroom. I think we have made some good headway but I think it will be a while. No problem!!!
** Notice the boots in the above picture. I bought these for Delaney for our trip to the mountains on New Years. Well...Delaney is obsessed with them. Every day she says "BOOTS"...I just hope she is over this by summertime. That will look mighty strange poolside.

Huge Snow!!!
We woke up on Saturday to a yard covered with snow!!
Tyson and Olive liked playing in it.
Delaney goes walking in the 4-5 inches of snow we got.
Delaney goes stomping around in the front yard.
Randy looks cute with our beautiful snow-covered street behind him.
Randy puts Delaney on his snowboard so we can push her down the hill.
Delaney sleds down her Daddy's snowboard in the front yard.
Delaney sleds on her Daddy's snowboard in the front yard again.
Playing in the snow.
Delaney surveys the top of the hill down at Forest Lake Elementary..
...and then she and her daddy ride the snowboard.
I try to entice Delaney to play in the snow by making a snow kitty.
Delaney briefly poses for a picture but really wants to go play in the snow again.
Here's our cute little snowman.
Delaney chats with the snowman her mommy and daddy built.
Randy and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner out at Terra. I got the lobster and it was delicious!! Delaney hung out with Grammy while we were eating and had a good time. Because it was cold out, Grammy supplied Delaney with a hat. I think she looks like she could join the cast of Fat Albert.

Snow in SC!!!!
After leaving Delaney's Valentine's party at daycare, we arrived home to welcome the snow!!! Yes...SC got snow! It ended up being the 5th biggest snowfall in the state's history. At our house we got 4-5 inches. It was amazing!!

The other Roberts children
Delaney enjoys a cupcake that my friend Danielle made. Yummy!!! She pronounces it "pupcake".
I would like to take a minute to acknowledge the other Roberts children in the house. They are still a big part of the family even though they are not captured in pictures as often. Mia bonds with her feather boa here and acts like a diva.
Tyson enjoys his new bed....
....and looks cute with his bone.
Sorry Olive!!!! We love you too!!!

At home but recovering
Delaney was diagnosed with double ear infection on Monday so that explains a lot of the irritability. Poor little thing still had a fever on Monday so Randy and I split half-days at work to take care of Delaney at home. This continued on Tuesday, with our child finally fever-free but still at home because of the no fever for 24 hour rule at Daycare. Because we were at home with her for 2 days, we managed to entertain ourselves a lot.
Delaney checks out Olive's new doggie bed. The thing looks so comfortable that even me, Miss Never Nap, might have a little snooze in it.
Delaney took out all of her toys from her toy box and stepped on each one of them---smiling wickedly. Should I be worried?

Sick Week
It's been a little rough in the Roberts' household since Wednesday. I had to pick Delaney up from daycare on Wednesday because she had a fever. On Thursday I stayed home with her and this was basically her position for a lot of the day.
Friday was a better day somewhat but Delaney was in a clinging to Daddy sort of mood. The clinging where she basically hung on to his leg like a monkey. I was able to get lots of things done. Her daycare was having a circus celebration and poor Delaney couldn't go but I had signed up to do the facepainting so I went and had fun. I brought Delaney back some mini corn dogs.
Saturday morning was AWFUL!! Delaney didn't have a fever but basically cried from 7:30 until 10:30. I called the doctor and gave them her symptoms and they suggested Tylenol or Motrin, bulbing the snot out of her nose (yeah right), and popsicles. We gave her a bath, and did the aforementioned items, minus the godawful bulbing...and....
....one fruit popsicle face later the child was cured.
After a bath, some Motrin, and clinging on to a popsicle, Delaney revives and is herself again. Hallelujah!
** I love how Delaney tries to sing along with the Spanish version of the alphabet song in this.
