Blocks, and Baseball, and Potties, Oh My!

Randy and Delaney try to build the world's largest block tower....

....and then Randy pretends to sneeze.

Maya has started hoarding Barbie dolls and brings her two bath Barbies into the pool with her. She usually needs about six at all times...but we try to talk her down to one for each hand. She has become quite obsessive about it. I think Maya is the only one year old who knows every Disney princess by name too.

Swimming with Grammy.

And Mommy.

Delaney loves to play any ball sports with her daddy and actually has very good eye-hand coordination. Something she definitely didn't inherit from me.

She hits her target almost every time. She has also gotten really good at kicking a soccer ball. I can't wait until the season starts this year! I think we actually might have some field action. :)

Maya loves her Grammy.

Uh oh....did we catch some picking??

Randy shows off our new pool chairs and cushions. We finally found the chairs after months of looking and then a month later finally found cushions we liked. Just like us to get all of this at the end of pool season.

Maya has become very interested in sitting on the potty. We are not rushing her like we did Delaney. With Delaney, we knew Maya was coming so desperately wanted to get her out of diapers before Maya's arrival. With Maya...there is no rush. Randy and I both don't mind changing her diapers at bit....and Maya actually gets her diaper and wipe for us and lies down on her mat and kicks her legs up in the air for us. Actually very cute. Maya is taking it upon herself to start this process. One night when Randy was out of town and I had both girls, I took Delaney to the potty before bed to do her book on the potty before her bed books. Maya came too and said "potty" so Delaney sat on the big potty and Maya on the little. Maya said "wipe" when Delaney was done and Delaney said "you don't need to wipe Maya if you didn't go pee pee" and Maya said "pee pee" and I looked in the potty and she had gone!!!! She was so excited and screamed "I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!" My baby girl............That night when I was putting her to bed, I said "Maya...don't get any bigger. Stay just like you are". She said, "I'm a baby and put her head on my shoulder". That she understood what I was saying means she isn't a baby anymore. Sniff.

A little Wii time with the girls. Disney got a Disney Princess game and a Rapunzel game for her birthday. The coffee table has become the Wii spot and Maya loves to watch her sister play.

Palmetto Falls 2012

My sweet girl.

We decided to take an outing to Palmetto Falls for water slides and fun. Delaney borrowed my Supergirl visor for the adventure. This is last pic of Laney Boo for a while. More on this to follow........

Maya had her little Gamecock cap and she was ready to go!

I love my little squishy so.

Maya couldn't believe that she could be in a whole little baby pool and not have to wear swimmies with no one holding her. She was sooooo excited!!!

Maya loved the baby pool at Palmetto Falls where she didn't have to wear her swimmies and could splash and play for hours.
After leaving the baby pool we went over to the little splash area and Maya showed no fear with the water going everywhere.

My little shrieking happy baby loved the splash area at Palmetto Falls.

There was a little slide in the baby pool area and Maya, once again, showed no fear and just climbed up and went down without a problem. I was so proud of my little girl.

Maya loved the little alligator slide in the baby area at Palmetto Falls. Just before going down this time, the little boy behind her turned her hat like this. Just a little water slide yo. ** Okay---Delaney is in no pictures because she had a little injury. She was having a blast with Randy on the lazy river and the baby pool area and then said she wanted to be a big girl and go down the slightly bigger kids water slide. Well---she got to the top and they told her she couldn't wear her goggles or her swimmies. She attempted to be brave but after several trips up and down the stairs she got scared and cried. Poor little thing. :( She came back to the baby pool and decided she wanted to be tough again. She did the up and down stairs thing again several times and then she and Randy decided to go together sitting next to each other on adjoining slides. Delaney wanted to hold both of Randy's hands during the slide down which caused her skin on her tummy to rub against the slide. Well she screamed and cried when she got done but because we are SO used to the "boy who cried wolf" with her----we didn't actually believe that she was injured because it hadn't really made a mark yet. She continued to scream and Randy took her to the first aid area where she refused to get cream. Her screaming and crying continued for the rest of the outing which was very sad. Upon arriving home we discovered she really did have a burn from the slide and we felt awful. We told her the story of the "boy who cried wolf" and I tried to explain that all of her little injuries she shouldn't get so upset over and that the burn she got on the slide was "the wolf". Delaney's response to this was: "Mommy----a wolf did NOT bite me. Sheesh!!!!" Oh well. We will be bringing the girls back to Palmetto Falls in a couple of weeks so sweet Delaney can go down the "big slide" again and she promised to only hold one hand this time. :)
