Happy Halloween 2013

Maya's class at Shandon United Methodist Preschool. She is still referring to them as her "new" friends but she is really becoming close with some which is great. Look at my cute Supergirl in the front.

The 3's, 4's and kindergartners did a parade around the preschool for the younger kids and the parents. Maya was a bit confused by it all.

Maya and her bud Emma Heyward.
Maya's preschool classes (3's, 4's and kindergarten) all parade around the school in their costumes. Her teachers Ashley and Becky are the ones dressed like skeletons. Maya was a bit confused by the parade at first. The kids were all so adorable.
There were two Dorothy's in Maya's class---Millie and Anna Claire.

The parade moves outside with Emma Heyward as a cheerleader...

...Wit as a cowboy and Marshall as an angry bird....

...Lanee as Belle ballerina and Supergirl with Mrs. Becky as a skeleton. Maya and Mrs. Becky definitely have a mutual love for each other. Maya's other teacher Mrs. Ashley is awesome but she is the academic/disciplinarian while Mrs. Becky is the lovey-dovey one. I think they make for the perfect mixture.

The class again as a whole. There were some kids missing the first go round.

While trying to get my child to smile Benjamin G. and Zeke had huge grins so I just captured them.

The two BFF's...Maya and Sandy.

Randy and I decided to zombify ourselves for Halloween this year. I bought an awesome dress at the Columbia Children's Theatre costume sale. It used to be a Cinderella dress that the owner died with tea and it turned out this cool purple color. It was scraggly with some beads hanging off so I thought it would make a perfect zombie dress.

Maya and I playing our roles.

Two adorable children with one wondering what the hell she is doing there with two very odd, but fun, parents.

Halloween was great this year. Delaney had a late start on the trick or treating because of some behavior issues we have been dealing with. Maya and I went out and then Randy and Delaney caught up with us. We went down the street where some friends of ours were having their annual street party and we met some new neighbors and other people. We separated into small groups to tackle the neighborhood for trick or treating. There is an awesome house down the street where the owner does a different Halloween theme each year. I think he used to be a set designer or something because the yard and front porch is so elaborate it is pretty incredible. I really need to take some pics next time. The theme this year was Edgar Allan Poe books and he had The Gold Bug, Tell Tale Heart and all of the other spooky favorites. His wife said that every year on November 1 he already starts to plan for the following year.
Additional note on the trick or treating---Delaney saw her friend Mac from school who lives in our neighborhood. She was hanging out with him and his parents for a while and then we they parted she planted a big ol kiss on his mouth. Awkward moment for the parents. My child is super affectionate.

Nutty and Grammy came to our house for a while to hand out candy. Grammy actually scared some kids with her get-up.

Fall Fun and Pumpkins, and Boo at the Zoo

We met a big group of our old Trenholm Road friends and their kids at the Richland Mall rooftop for food and music and fun. All of the kids and parents were so excited to see each other. This is such a good group!! Maya and Jake drew with some chalk together.

Jake and Heath

Sweet Jake who turns 3 next week

Lilly, Sarah Beth, and Sally

Maya----of course I was not good with my camera this night and I should have been to get pics of the adults. Oh well. Thank goodness we have girls night, oyster roast, and tacky Christmas sweater party coming up soon!!

Our annual visit to the Historic Columbia Scarecrows in the Garden exhibit. This is always fun to see. People can enter various scarecrows into a contest and Randy and I are going to do it next year. Disney interfered with our planning for it this year. Here is Edward Scarecrow Hands. Can't remember any other names of the rest but they were all so creative and fun. The girls wanted to be pictured with almost all of them so here we go.........

The shirt says "The Earth without Art is just Eh".

This Tin Man one was adorable.

Trying to capture some family shots. This one was successful.

This one not as much.

Uh....Randy and I look happy but what happened to our girls?

Grammy needed some zombie makeup for a Halloween party she was going to as a Zombie cheerleader. I helped her apply this. Scary!!!!!

The girls doing a scary pose with their Grammy.

The girls wanted me to paint their faces then and they decided to pose with our new Halloween friend that dances to "Moves Like Jagger". There is always dancing at our house.

Posing with our pumpkins. The top left is Delaney designed ghost pumpkin and the top right is our annual kitty pumpkin. The bottom two are Princess and Witch pumpkin potato head style.

Oh I love these silly girls.

Supergirl and Pinkie Pie (My Little Pony) get ready to go to Boo at the Zoo!!

Delaney ran into Sally a.k.a. Supergirl at the zoo.

These little lion statues at the front are always a big hit.

Aunt Maxie joined us at the zoo for the festivities and we got a family shot.

Grammy was there too and she climbed in for this one.

Pink pony with a real pony.

The girls riding the little train.

Frankenstein's Foam Zone!

Maya was really scared of the foam. My poor little sometimes sensory child has some issues.

It was a great night as usual with good trick or treating and fun. Didn't capture any of the dance party shots but the girls boogied a little bit before we headed home.
