Cinderella, Goals, and Dance Observations

Dress rehearsal time for Cinderella!!!

My girls and their friend Quinn are excited about Cinderella.

The rehearsals were very organized and short. Everything about this Cinderella experience has been wonderful. I wrote William Starrett, the director of Columbia City Ballet, a message stating how pleased I was with the experience from the staff, short rehearsal times, and little pressure for my girls this was. They loved it and it was stress free for me. I also love that they didn't have to do a curtain call at the end and were able to come out into the audience after their performance at intermission and see the rest of the ballet because they didn't get to see it.

I get to hang out with this munchkin every day to wait for Delaney to get out of school. Love it.

Maya and I spend a lot of time together waiting on Delaney to get out of school. I wouldn't change it for the world.

Loving on Garlic the neighborhood cat before leaving for the big performance. This would be Garlic's last picture because she died the next week. We knew it was coming because she was hanging out a lot and we were feeding her and giving her water and a bed to sleep in. She would come in a lot and just hang out and be sweet. Garlic started looking really old a couple of months ago and lost some pep in her step. Garlic has been around for many years and has been a neighborhood staple for us since we moved to this house almost four years ago. The girls love her and she has been an amazing little kitty with her one blue eye and one green eye. Her owner, Betty Kornegay-Kaneft, had to make that awful decision to put her to sleep because she really began suffering. We will miss you Garlic!!!

My beautiful little dragonflies. I loved that they got to dance the same part. The dragonfly routine was beautiful and the girls really got to dance a little bit. Some of the other kid parts were just a lot of standing around so I was really pleased they got this one.

It was a sleepy next morning for soccer but the girls rallied.

Maya scored a goal during her game!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!! I never thought this would happen so of course we went to Dunkin Donuts afterwards to get her a donut.

Maya hanging out at Delaney's soccer game with her stuff.

It really wasn't swim weather but my monkeys decided to get in the pool anyway.

Soccer and Leprechauns

Maya might not be the best the Badgers soccer team has to offer but doggone it she is the cutest. That hat just kills me.

Delaney's team, The Mighty Kicks, are always full of enthusiasm.

The little sisters are always there to cheer the Mighty Kicks on.

I love my zippie girls! When Delaney requested some I had to oblige.

Delaney wearing zippies while hula hooping makes me smile.

Delaney had a project at school to do a report/poster/dress up like a famous American. After discovering three others were doing Walt Disney (darn!), we decided on Annie Oakley. She researched her and then was able to dress like her complete with a marshmellow shooter!!

Our favorite holiday is finally here!!! We love St. Patrick's Day!!!!

This little leprechaun is just killing me. Those glasses and mini hat bow just did it.

Unfortunately it was a rainy and nasty day. Where Delaney takes piano, Freeway Music, was looking for participants for the parade. Delaney had signed up and was still willing to do it, even in the rain. We dropped her off with the group with her umbrella and scooter. Delaney was so excited she got to be a part of things!!!

The contestants for the Best Dressed Leprechaun contest.

The pot of gold and her leprechaun.

Here go Maya and I in the Best Dressed Leprechaun Contest. We won first place!!!!! Woo hoooooooooo!!!!!!

We won!!!!! First place!!! It is audience vote and I must say we killed it. And people actually weren't as impressed with Maya, who I thought was phenomenal, but me in the pot of gold. They said they had never seen anyone dress like that before. Really??? Google costumes anyone???? I am proud though and $250 richer. Third year in a row!!! And to top it off, I also won third place in my age category for the 10K Get to the Green race that I ran that morning. In the rain. Soaking wet. I have never placed in this race before so I don't know if I am getting better or there were less people because of the rain. I don't care---I'll take it!!

Randy doesn't look too happy to be out in the cold rain for the parade!

But Grammy is always cheery.

Here comes the Freeway music truck!

And sweet Delaney was able to catch a ride. :)

Wet musicians

Delaney was soaked to the core but absolutely loved being in the parade.

We popped in Jake's to get warm and dry and eat food. My children eating food in a bar makes me smile.

We told the girls with our prize money we would get them treats. Maya selected this obnoxiously loud fake trumpet and she entertained the festival with it.

The kids area with rides didn't have many people because of the rain but the girls still did the ferris wheel.

And they always love the strange little petting zoo.

And rode the ponys.

The weather was gorgeous later and we dropped the girls off at Grammys and then Randy and I went back to the festival for adult time. We saw friends, listened to music, and had jello shots. Good times.
