Her biggest present this year was her new toddler bed. We put it together and moved the crib to the old guests room a.k.a. new nursery. Randy and I didn't realize we had to take the crib APART to move it to the other room but oh well. Delaney LOVES her bed and new adorable bedding I got from Pottery Barn Kids with a throw pillow with an owl on it that says "D". She also loves her new fluffy big girl rug. We haven't put the wall lights up yet that will go next to her bed but they came from IKEA and are 3 flowers that are so cute and will match perfectly. My big girl now has a big girl room. Sniff.....

Delaney's 2nd Birthday morning!!!!
And our birthday tradition continues----we sing to Delaney in the morning on her birthday. I love the big grin that we get.
Delaney's birthday theme this year was "Yo Gabba Gabba". This is a kid's show on Nick Jr. that we (meaning me and Delaney) are obsessed with. Randy is quite fond of it too. It is quirky and has these charcters that sing and dance. Apparently the hit thing to do now if you're a star is to be on Yo Gabba Gabba because Sarah Silverman and Jack Black have both done hilarious ones. Seriously---if you haven't seen the Friends episode of Yo Gabba Gabba that Jack Black is on---check it out. He wears DJ Lance's outfit and it is priceless. The musical guests on the show are also awesome: The Roots, Weezer, etc...Best show EVER!!!! Anyhoo----Delaney got her on YGG shirt for the party with the jambox and Yo Gabba Gabba printed on the front and the line "Let's Do It...Break it Down" on the back. If you are a YGG fan you will think that is awesome.
Delaney gets her first tennis racket so she can play with mommy and daddy.
She gets lots of books and puzzles.....
...and her first camera because she is so obsessed with mine. So far, she has only taken pictures of her feet but we are working on it.

The birthday weekend begins!!!!
Delaney started off her birthday weekend with a present that arrived from Jackson. It was a princess art set and Tinkerbell make-up bag with make-up. Delaney immediately put almost all of the lip gloss on her lips---well really her chin and cheeks.
This present she is opening her was an immediate favorite. It was a felt kit that had Madeleine and accessories. Delaney loved it!!
A highlight from the million Grammy presents were the new Dora sandals.
Delaney got an awesome boom box for her birthday that she jams out to. Please ignore the sideways video. I have no idea how to fix it.

Rosewood Crawfish Festial 2010
After the Heart and Sole Run and little D had a nap, we headed to Rosewood to the annual Crawfish festival.
We ran into Larry and Joe at the festival and Larry was chowing down on the 4 pounds of crawfish they were serving. We took his advice and got some immediately. They were awesome!!
Larry, Joe, and Randy
"BIG HUG" to the crawfish.
"Awwwwwww"....Delaney loves her some crawfish. At least the tall walking ones. She didn't taste any of our real ones but picked them up and played with them for a while.

Heart and Sole Run 2010
The Heart and Sole Run is a great event in Columbia each year that is a 5-mile run/walk for women's heart disease. I got a team together and we were the "Miss 5-Milers". Some of us wore tiaras and necklaces to be festive. I was unable to run (sad) because of pregnancy but my friend Liz and I walked it while the rest of the team ran. Let me just rephrase that I'm sure I could have run it but my dear sweet husband knows how competitive I am with running and that I wouldn't run slow and easy but would try to kick people's ass and that probably isn't the best thing to do when you are about 5 months pregnant.
The Miss 5-Milers: Becca, Cheri, Liz, Robyn, Katie, me, Mary, and little D in the stroller
They had great entertainment and volunteers on the race course. Cocky was there and for some reason Delaney was scared of him. Right after we walked by him she babbled about it for the next mile though.

When we got to the top of the hill heading down towards the finish line I let Delaney out of the stroller so she could run the race. She ran down the hill, holding my hand at first, and then took off running saying "I'M RUNNING!!!!!". She crossed the finish line and was just grinning from ear to ear and so excited. When we got home after the race she told Randy, "Daddy---I won the race". Watching her cross the finish line was a moment I will cherish. It was just so precious seeing her race across the finish line with all of these people cheering her on.

Okay---I know I am going back in time with this one but while I was ordering the Heart and Sole pics I ran into this one. I just thought it was a cool shot of me running the St. Patty's Day race this year. I think I was just feeling sentimental about running and really wanting to lately. Not only am I pregnant and can't run---but the main reason is my ridiculous feet. I have plantar fasciitis and a heel spur in my right foot and it is pretty darn painful if I do say so. I have been stretching, icing, whining, etc...but it really won't go away. I am looking into buying new shoes and other methods but I really miss running right now. I know that I stopped when I was pregnant with Delaney at about 6months so this is just a little earlier for me this time. Watch out world---I will be back running in January 2011!!!

Dr. Wachter's Picnic
Dr. Wachter is an important person in my life for two reasons: 1) He was my principal at Rosewood Elementary School and left a lasting impression. He made every student feel like they were important. He would have a special lunch with each student during the school year where you ate lunch with him in his office and it was the best thing ever! Dr. Wachter called the 5th graders "sweathogs" and I waited 4 years to have that honor and then he decided to leave on a sabbatical during my "sweathog" year so I never got to be called that name. I would say I didn't forgive him but of course I did because of the second reason he is important in my life 2) He married Randy and I!!!
Dr. Wachter was the principal at Rosewood Elementary for 34 years and is retiring this year. They had a picnic at the school and there were hundreds of people there to honor him. It was quite amazing.
Delaney, mom and I enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Everything was so festive.
Dr. Wachter spoke to the group and introduced the new principal. I can't imagine stepping into those shoes. HUGE shoes to fill.

Randy and Delaney play their new game---spin the Delaney on the ground. Another word we have for it is "breakdancing".

Super Laney would like to announce her good news:
She is having a little SISTER!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Randy is officially outnumbered now. We are all so excited and can't wait to meet her in September. Delaney has already picked a name: "Chaucer". She is very serious when we ask her what her baby sister should be named and this is what she says. We will think about it.......:)
