Forest Acres Festival

Every year we love going to the Forest Acres Festival that is totally FREE!!!! They have rides, petting zoo, crafts, etc...and the kids just love it! Here the girls are making little bird feeders out of plastic eggs, peanut butter, and bird seed.

Climbing the inflatable rock wall

Love these crooked helmets

Maya thought she was so brave taking on the rock wall.

Look at Delaney with her shades on flirting with that little boy near her.
Randy and his girls on the big slide at the Forest Acres Festival. Delaney insisted on holding her daddy's hand while she slid down which caused her arm to slide against the side of the slide. (Say that 5 times) Of course this was a "major" injury which caused a lot of tears. Poor thing. She tries to be brave sometimes and it just backfires on her. This same thing happened at the water park last year where she slide down next to Randy and got a burn on her stomach and probably will never do a water slide again.
Riding a pony. This was right before her mental breakdown that caused us to leave the festival early. Sigh. I thought these little issues would have ended when she turned five. Not so lucky.

Maya looking a little nervous riding the pony.

Sweet Maya was tuckered out when we got home. She passed out on the couch not letting go of her balloon.

TRUMPS Spring Fling 2013

Maya in the Two's II Class at TRUMPS in her Spring Fling performance. They did the songs "Let it Shine" and "You are my Sunshine". Maya did such a good job and was really singing up there. Her teachers Caitlyn and Maritza are so cute and do such a good job with those kids.

My little sunshine star
Delaney in the fours class at TRUMPS at the Spring Fling concert singing "All things Bright and Beautiful"

Delaney and her class singing a fun version of the alphabet song and then "kindergarten here we come!!". I think they got so excited with the kindergarten song they rushed it a bit.
After the Spring Fling they had an outdoor fest with corn dogs and chips and drinks for everyone and bouncy houses for the kids. It was such a fun idea and we loved sitting outside and hanging out with everyone. The girls loved their corn dogs.

Crawfish Fest 2013

Randy and I before the Crawdaddy Dash 5K run. Nutty came to watch the girls at Grammy's house before the race. (Grammy was in Israel) We both did awesome in the run! Randy had his best run to date and I got first place in my age division and fourth best overall female! Woo hooooooo!!!!!! We stayed around for the prizes afterwards because I had a feeling I won something and the prizes were spatulas and oven mitts. Nice ones...but still......

Cruising the crawfish festival.

Yes--those are lobsters on Maya's dress but I told her they were crawfish. She felt quite important.

Maya being a big girl and sliding all by herself. She flew down that sucker.

Three good friends swinging. We hung out with Raven and Scott (Sally and Jake) and Noel and Greg (Stella and Heath) for a while at the festival. The three big girls rode the swings together. Such big girls.

Maya and Heath are just too cute.

Sally and Delaney shared the stroller for a while.

Randy hung out with his old friend Josh for a while. Like the matching green shirts?

While Randy, Josh and I devoured some crawfish the girls devoured some pizza.

Back at Grammy's we found some dandelions to blow.

Hip hip hooray for another wonderful Crawfish Festival!!!!

Delaney's Dance Recital 2013

Delaney absolutely loves the dance classes she takes at school and was so excited about her recital.

Sally is one of Delaney's best friends and I am so glad that the two of them will be together in kindergarten next year at Brennen. Sally's mom, Raven, and I are close so that will be fun!

Delaney loved her princess ballerina outfit.

Nana wouldn't miss coming to a dance recital!

Lining up for the big performance.

Introducing Delaney at her dance recital.
Showing off the braids that Ms. Maritza put in Delaney's hair. So wish I could do that!
Delaney especially loved dancing to this one. I think it was all the hip wiggling.
Little miss hip wiggle again. Any chance to shake it this girl will do it! Their little routine for taking off their tap shoes to prepare for the ballet portion. My sweet little beautiful girl with those twisty ol' legs. Sigh. Ballet dance Ballet leaps across the floor Another ballet number The final leap to get her dance certificate.

Curtsey

Delaney and one of her teachers Miss Kristy

This is Delaney's main squeeze Roper. Problem is: he is all the girls' main squeeze. This man knows how to work it. He came up to Delaney and gave her a flower after the show. She couldn't even talk she was so excited. Problem is....he did that to Sally and Meredith as well. I didn't tell Delaney that. She would be heartbroken.

Uh........

Yes Maya.....we know you can be "special" sometimes. :)

Maya is definitely not the movie watcher that Delaney is but she still loves to sit and watch with her sister at night. She cracks up very easily at stuff and here she is cracking up at Fantasia.
