Jumping Fun and a Special 18th (or 126th in people years) birthday

The cousins came over for a swim and the two big girls jumped into the pool for hours.

Delaney and Morgan love jumping into the pool together doing tricks. They make up different routines before jumping in and a new fave was holding hands.
This is truly gross--but funny. Davis spits water out of his mouth and Tyson licks it up.

This pic made me laugh because Dave is holding Delaney up by her feet to toss her into the pool and her little hiney is sticking out.

Randy with the crossword puzzle. We get the Sunday newspaper every week basically just for the coupons and the crossword. It is our ultimate challenge to finish the whole puzzle. We never have done it. It is also a big challenge to see who gets to the puzzle first on Sunday mornings.

Getting ready for Mia's 18th birthday party.

Homemade hat/crown courtesy of me and the girls.

My sweet Mia kitty turns 18 sometime in August so we celebrated her birthday. The girls and I made her a hat and a card. We also gave her wet food with a candle which she hasn't eaten in like, 18 years, and she tore it up. I feel like I have deprived her!

Nana came over to go swimming. She loved hanging out with the girls.

These pics make me laugh and smile.

I was trying to take a pic of the girls but....what is that in the background....? A facedown Grammy in the pool?? What in the world is she doing?

Pool Fun and Mia Fun

Delaney jumping in the pool!
Maya is obviously in the middle of a song here.

Love that cheesy grin.

Delaney jumping!!!!

Delaney does the "Jesus" trick her daddy taught her which is trying to walk on water. We are all going to hell aren't we?? Maya just continues her singing which pretty much doesn't stop no matter where the location.
Maya has been getting into our bed every night around 3 o clock for a while now. For some reason both she and Delaney squish up to Randy and kick him all night so it drives him crazy. Me, on the other hand, sleeping soundly, find it really cute. Anyway..came back from the gym one morning to find my Mia and my Maya sleeping soundly together.

Delaney multitasking....brushing teeth with her light saber Star Wars toothbrush and petting Mia at the same time.

Delaney squinting from the flash but really cute pic of Mia.

If you know Mia, you know that she has never been the friendliest of cats. I have had her since I was 18 years old, I got her when I was a sophomore at Florida State. She has never been the most playful of kitties but she has been loyal and wonderful to me and I have moved her eight million times and dragged her with me in the car numerous places, and basically she and I have made a good team. Mia scratched Randy the first time he came to my apartment...I think she was being territorial. After that though she started sleeping on his head so they became friends. Ok....moral of the story is that Mia in her old age has become extremely sweet with the girls. She sleeps in both of their beds...alternating so neither one feels bad. She loves them and tolerates them to a certain degree before she lets out one of those annoying meows:) I am so glad that all of my girls get along.

Gamecocks and Water Slides

I took the girls to the Main Library to see some of the Gamecock football players reading books to kids. It was a really festive event with tons of kids and the football players were really sweet. Cocky did some pre-game show entertainment as usual. It was a little loud so my eldest child got clingy and whiny.

The Gamecock Football players burst through the banner before they read to kids at the library. There were hundreds of kids there and it was festive and awesome.
My youngest child on the other hand was perfectly happy but was acting up in the form of trying to strip her clothes off and lying on the ground swishing her hair around and saying "I'm a mermaid!". It could have been a really pleasant experience....but unfortuanetly it wasn't.

The football players all signed autographs for the kids after the reading. While waiting in lines Maya decided to go all noodle on me and I basically had to drag her around. Meanwhile pout-puss was in full out whine mode. We brought Randy's Gamecock flag for the players to sign. I don't know who these two were but they were very sweet. You wouldn't guess these two girls were crazy at this event because of their sweet smiles here. We only got a few autographs because I had to get out of there!!!!

Randy and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary this year. For presents, he of course went overboard and got me dresses, a facial, and a record player!!!!!!!!!!!! I have wanted one for so long so play my dad's records which are amazing consisting of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elton John, etc.....The record player he got me also has a CD player and cassette deck so watch out old mix tapes---you are getting played!!!! So I wouldn't get yet another present wrong...I gave him a sweet card that states he can get whatever he wants....within reason. He opted to get a soft top for his new Jeep Wrangler. Yeah....did I mention he got a new car...as in NEW car??? Yeah----didn't think that was going to happen. It is a beautiful car but ridiculous on gas mileage and basically not practical for a family. Can you tell I am not too fond of it? Oh well. Anway....the girls here in this pic are listening to my old Snow White record. I love my little mini me's so.

We took the girls to Palmetto Falls...the water park at Fort Jackson. Now if you remember my post from last year----it wasn't the most pleasant experience for Delaney. Maya had a blast in the splash area and kiddy pool but Delaney went down the bigger slide with Randy and scraped her torso and basically couldn't recover from that injury. We think this year will be much better.

Maya loved stomping around the one foot kiddy pool. She couldn't believe she could WALK in the pool!

Going down the mini frog slide in the kiddy area.

Delaney with her daddy at the top of the slide. And she did it!!!! She then did it again and I caught her at the bottom and then did it all by herself!!! Today also marked the first day that she jumped in the pool by herself! She is now a jumping machine. Delaney has stated that she now wants to be a swim instructor when she grows up. And to think she wouldn't put her face in two months ago!

Delaney and her daddy tackle the water slide together at Palmetto Falls. What a difference a year makes on this one----Delaney did it with her daddy first, then by herself with me catching her at the bottom, and then all by herself. So proud!

Maya jumping off the little umbrella area in the kiddie pool.

We had a BLAST Palmetto Falls! We are definitely coming back one more time before the season ends.

Delaney doing some "stunts" on the frog slide at Palmetto Falls.
