TRUMPS Christmas Pageant--Two's Room--December 9, 2010

Late posting on this one--

Please excuse the quality. Because I was so excited watching Delaney, my video of her performance did not turn out so good. This video came from Libbie’s dad Fred. He made a CD for me but I couldn’t download it onto my computer so I just took a video of the video on my computer. Anyhoo---the song they were performing was “Ring Those Bells and Stomp Your Feet”---a sort of made up song as Delaney’s teacher Mrs. Lindsey called it. Well—it is a shame the camera moved off of Delaney right when it started because the audience laughter is due to her forgetting about the whole stomping part and just jumping up and down and shaking those bells. Other kids followed suit but my doodlebug was definitely the ringleader there.

Once again, because I was too excited watching my child--I didn't get any pictures. Luckily my friend Amanda was sitting front row and took these pics and then sent them to me.

Princesses and Ballerinas

Delaney has a variety of tutus and princess outfits in her dress up area in her room. When we go to wake her up in the morning, we occasionally find her dressed in several of the items, placed right on over her pajamas. Here she is looking rather gourgeous wearing at least 3 tutus and showing off her morning hair-do.

My littlest princess is getting so big...



....and is always happy.



Our digital piano at home plays ~50 different songs. Delaney is sort of stuck on two of them and loves to dance "ballerina" to them. She has her routine somewhat choreographed and it is adorable to watch. She is not shy about it...come on over...she will put on her princess dress and dance for just about anyone.

Rooms and Tunes

I realized that I hadn't shown anyone pics of Maya's nursery if you haven't seen it in person. We painted the room the pink/peach walls to match her crib bedding. I like to be unique in the artwork with not everything matching and make it more personal. The pics above the crib are ones from this book that I love "The Pressed Fairies Book". The pics are beautiful drawings of fairies that have been smooshed into the pages. Kind of creepy and strange...but beautiful. I pulled the pages out of the book and then framed them.

The kitty paintings (one being the Aristocats lithograph that my dad gave me) moved over from Delaney's room and mom gave me the Noah's Ark folk painting.

Mia loves to sit in Maya's room in the sunshine.

After our wedding, one of my mom's oldest friends Lorraine dried the wedding bouquet flowers and framed them. We had them in our guest room and when the guest room was converted to a nursery for Maya, we hung them in there because they just fit. The ladybug clock was a good find and I painted "Maya" on it because Delaney has a personalized clock in her room that Grammi got her before she was born. Have to be even steven you know???

Because I am always the one behind the camera, I tried to capture some self-portraits with my little pumpkins. Not the best shots, but we are cozy and smoochy.



I just love this outfit. Delaney and I call it her "Cruella de Ville" outfit.

Somersaults and New Hats

Our friends Kel-Z and Rick game through town briefly and visited with us. Jackson was with them and he is so cute!! Definitely all boy. Maya was here but Delaney was not here because she was with her Grammy and Nana at the Alice in Wonderland ballet at Dreher High School. I was thinking that was going to be a nightmare of an outing because I didn't think Delaney would be able to sit still to watch a ballet. Well...she loved it. Apparently she was mesmerized and she hasn't been able to stop talking about it. She now dances around our house like a ballerina.

One of Maya's Chanukah presents from her Grammi was this fluffy bunny towel. Is she the cutest or what?

When my child passes out...she passes out.

Delaney opened this hat and boots one night for Chanukah as a present from her Grammi. She immediately put everything on and they positioned herself again in her chair to watch a movie.

Delaney likes to wear anything that is her daddy's-----hat, slippers, etc...

I got a special Chanukah cake from Baskin Robbins. It was DELICIOUS and quite beautiful.

Nana and Stan enjoy their spaghetti and salad.

Matt was happy with the dinner and I know he secretly loves spending time with my children even though he would never admit it.

Wow--mom and I were certainly excited about a present.

Delaney loved her fire truck from her Grammy. Oh wait---Grammy just recently changed the spelling of her name to "Grammi". I guess that is fancier.

Nana loved the picture book that Delaney and Maya made for her.

Delaney was soooo excited about her Beanie Baby Swiper.

Stan gets Delaney all riled up and rambunctious with their little Swiper game.

**Oh--and see that American Girl box in the video? Yes---that is Delaney's first American Girl doll. I know she is a little young for it but this year's doll was "Laney" and seriously---she looks just like Delaney. Blond hair and is a nature girl. It was fate. Laney is still in her box and will remain there until Delaney stops throwing her dolls down the stairs and things like that. I am so excited she has one of them. Thank you Nana!!! I remember my grandmother bought me one when I was little (Samantha) and I loved it.

Sweet Seasons

Mini Santa

In a Roberts family tradition, we headed to the top of Midtown (a.k.a. old Richland Mall) to Sweet Seasons. This is a mini-festival where Santa comes and they have food from various restaurants. Delaney was so excited about seeing Santa (a.k.a. "Christmas")and had planned out what she was going to tell him what she wanted for Christmas.

"I want blueberries and a baby doll". Delaney calls her Sing-a-mg-Jigs "blueberries".

It was a very cold night and Maya was bundled up in her car seat carrier with the snuggle top.

Cuteness

Maya is officially the smilingest and happiest baby in the whole world. People are just amazed at how easy going she is and how she just loves to smile.

Maya has such good head control and is already sitting in her Bumbo chair.



Maya loves her some Uncle Dave. I think there's a little vice versa there as well.

My mom told me they were doing a driving Chanukah parade starting at Beth Shalmon temple and going ~10 miles to Assembly street downtown. There was a write-up in the paper about it, etc..so I thought it was going to be a big deal. I took the girls close by to the temple on Trenholm Rd. and we got out of the car and stood on the side of the road in the cold. Well---the "parade" consisted of ~10 cars with balloons and these menorahs on top. That was it. Well---at least my enthusiastic about everything daughter thought it was fun. She was waving at the cars, some of which were involved with the parade, some of which were not. Delaney also got real excited about any white car she saw shouting "Mommy----it's your car!!!!!". I hope she stays this enthusiatic about everything.
