The entire Roberts Family, minus Mia (sorry kitty), went to Edisto Beach from Wednesday to Sunday to celebrate our third wedding anniversary and also for a much-needed vacation!!!
Because Tyson and Olive went with us, we had to rent a U-Haul trailer. We are so obnoxious.
The trip in the car was hysterical with Delaney laughing at the dogs and Randy throwing Cheerios back at them. Everyone did really well---Delaney slept and the dogs panted on the windows---causing some occasional stinkiness in the car. All in all, a great road trip.
After getting settled at the beach, we took a walk on the beach and Delaney walked in the ocean for the first time. She was very curious and seemed to really like it. She also really liked looking at the seagulls and imitating their sounds.
We stayed in a fabulous house that was given to us by Nancy, a neighbor that Randy has been doing work for. She is a wonderful lady who is 83 years old but looks younger and is so positive and full of life. Her house was perfect and had everything we needed---including a great wagon to drag all of our stuff to the beach. There was a wonderful screened in porch with a swing where Randy and I spent a lot of time, but Delaney's favorite thing was the carpet. We have no carpet at our house and the second we got to the beach house, she was on her belly on the floor "loving" on it.
Randy and I celebrated out third anniversary while at the beach. We had a delicious dinner of lobster ravioli and Randy bought us a bottle of my favorite wine--Schug Pinot Noir. We exchanged presents and I was such a lucky girl. I bought Randy a monogrammed leather tray for his dresser to hold his knick knacks (3rd wedding anniversary calls for leather) and a personalized game of Lovolopy. Randy loves Monopoly so I found this online and it is the coolest thing. You make your own gameboard with places that the two of you have visited and put your own pictures on it. He loved it! Randy bought me a digital camera---YAY!!!! My friend Tracey has let me borrow hers since I dropped our old one in the pool but now I have my own again. YAY!!!! Randy also bought me diamond stud earrings with an additional removable drop diamond on each for fancier occasions. If you remember, I lost one stud at the Wing Fest this year. Well---Randy brought my old one diamond to a jeweler and just wanted a match made. The jeweler looked at the old diamond and said it was a fake!!! CZ!!! Randy had bought the original diamonds at Macy's and still had the receipt. He went to Macy's and they basically said there was nothing they could do because how could they believe him because it had been three years. The original lady who had sold him the diamonds no longer worked there (fired for negligence) and they said how could they be sure those diamonds came from there in the first place. Isn't that ridiculous?!!! Randy has since sent a certified letter to Macy's requesting his money back and saying that if they don't respond, he will spread the word that Macy's is the worst store ever and they sell fake items. I will spread the word now: MACY'S SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T EVER SHOP THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway----I now have beautiful real diamond earrings and I love them very very much. They also have screw-backs so I won't ever lose them. Because these are real. And I would definitely cry if I lost them.
