Randy and I started out the 4th of July running a relay race. It was a 4-mile run where you had the option of running as a two-person team with each person running two miles. It was right in our neighorhood which was great! Randy and I ended up doing really good (31:03) and came in 8 out of 18 relay teams. One little problem though---we didn't know the course beforehand so had no idea what to do. Randy ran the first part of the race and the tag-team part where I was waiting for him was actually about 2 blocks from our house. As Randy came speedily running up to me, I shouted out "Just run home!!!!" instead of going back to the start/finish line. He nodded his head, but apparently didn't understand what I was saying. Anyhoo--at the finish I met up with mom who was with Delaney and I went home, expecting to find Randy in the pool. Well---after a little while I went looking for him and drove back to the race going the course route. He wasn't there, or at the finish line, so I started driving home again. I found Randy running up the road. Poor dear ended up running 2 miles, walking 2 miles back to the finish line, and then running about 1 mile more before I got to him. He was quite tired. It will probably take a lot of convincing before he runs another relay with me!! :)
Miranda had stayed with us the night before and we had so much fun! We ordered wings and raw fries, watched Big Daddy, and played UNO. Delaney absolutely LOVES Miranda and says her name, "Nuh-nan-da".
We had lots of people over to celerate the holiday for good food and swimming.
Not only did my mom make homemade barbecue, she made fablous fried chicken. Delaney tries out a leg.
Grammy and Delaney play peek-a-boo.
Morgan gets ready to fire the slingshot while Mandi makes sure it isn't aimed at someone's head.
I love it when Kelli and Trey pose for a picture. They do a good job.
Davis, Landon, and Elvin loved all of the pool games.
Sean and Dave suck it in for the camera.
Delaney takes a bite of cake in between putting her foot in her mouth. Seriously. That kid is flexible.
Melissa, Sean, Mandi, Chris, and Dave
Randy, Morgan, and Delaney hang out in a float. On the deck.
Delaney whacks Miranda and Lauren with her birthday balloon. Yes---birthday balloon. This apparently is the most powerful balloon ever made because it won't die.
Lauren is Miranda's friend that she made at zoo camp. The two of them together were hilarious.
Because I am usually behind the camera, I thought I would put in a pic of me in case you forgot what I looked like.
