Birthday and Blues Traveler and SC State Fair

To celebrate my 33rd (YIKES!) birthday this year, Randy and I went to Charlotte to see Blues Traveler. We stayed with Jessica and had such a good time! The show was at this new place called The Fillmore that was awesome. It is a hard place to describe but it basically looks like an old warehouse that is converted into a musical venue with no chairs, but lots of little bars inside and great views of the stage even from the back of the room. It was quite shwanky with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling all over the place. Blues Traveler put on a great show and even played "I Want You to Want Me"...an old Cheap Trick song that I LOVE! It was a great way to celebrate my birthday.

October is such a special time of year because that is when the State Fair is here!!!! I don't want to even describe what Randy and I ate while we were there, but it was ridiculous. Delaney loved the fair and looking at all of the freaky people that were there.

Delaney said "DUCK" to the nice vlasic pickle bird.

The bunnies were really cute and fluffy.

Because Delaney was too small to ride any of the real rides at the fair, we decided that she and I would ride on Peaches the elephant. I think I was almost more excited than Delaney!

Instead of getting excited about the animals and fair games, Delaney tended to find random things such as a bench truly mesmerizing.

Here is the banana that I won our sweet child at Whack-a-Mole. I am so damn good at that game. Randy won Delaney a dog popping balloons, and Delaney won herself a fish picking a duck from a pond. After receiving her fish, she threw the fish into the pond with the ducks. Whatever works. We took our banana, dog, and wet fish home and slept well that night after french fries, fried mushrooms, teriyaki chicken, egg roll, chicken fingers, raw fries, and root beer float. OMG---we are disgusting.
