Parks and Pools

It was a gorgeous day so I took the girls to the park after work.

Maya tackles any sort of step-up with a lot of gusto. This sort of looks like a surfing stance.

On Friday we took the opportunity for a swim!! This was probably the first day the pool has truly been warm enough for me to feel fully comfortable. It's crazy that it took until the second week of June to really warm up here. Famously hot?? Whatever.

Maya loves this turtle but she tends to sink in it. She won't let it go and float with any of the more appropriate baby floats. I think we will be buying her some little swimmies soon because she is loving the water and I think she would do really good with them.

Tyson's favorite thing in the world is to swim. About 4 months ago he had what we thought was a torn ACL. We took him to the vet and even though they couldn't 100% say that it was a torn ACL they recommended surgery. We asked for other options because 1) surgery too expensive and 2) didn't want to put Tyson through it. They said keep him inside for two months on "bedrest". We did that and he was so sad but I think it worked because when we let him out and he started swimming...he has been fine and hasn't limped at all. Yay Tyson!!!!

Olive doesn't like to swim as much as Tyson but we can coax her in sometimes and then she is really fast!!

Swimming can make you really hungry.
