Last Bathing Suit Day :( and Happy New Year

Poor little Delaney wanted one last swim because it was hot outside but the pool was already too cold. We attempted the sprinkler but that was too cold. She decided to just sweep the deck wearing her swimsuit instead.

This is a typical meal time at home with the girls. We sing, we sing with our mouths full, we tell stories, we occasionally wear costumes or in this case bathing suits, all done VERY LOUDLY!!!
Soccer season started again and boy were we in for a big surprise!!! The entire team was pumped up about practice and Delaney was one of the stars of the team!! She was kicking and running and looking like a real soccer star! People kept asking if we had been practicing since last year. No....Delaney was pretty resistant to that but as we have learned with her we need her to decide to do things when SHE is ready. And I guess she was really ready!!!
Delaney's soccer team gives it a try again this year and the first practice was a huge success! All of the kids did well but I must say that my little doodles should win the most improved award because she was a soccer super star! Here she is doing a little dribbling drill acros the field.
Maya enjoyed being outside and snacking at practice.

Maya's class with Ms. Maritza STILL has the same hermit crab (Hermey) that was there when Delaney was in the two's room. I can't believe the life span on those little suckers! Anyway---they are still allowing the kids to take Hermey home for the weekend so we signed up.

I think Hermey had a little thing for Belle.

Cute Delaney and Mady.

Real ball action during the game!!

Delaney played almost the ENTIRE game and was only taken out for water breaks. Instead of begging her to go back on like last year, she begged to go back on the field after a quick sip of water. She did AWESOME!!!!!!!

The tunnel after the game is always a big hit.

We took the girls to the Greek Festival along with Grammy and Nutty. Nutty offered to ride this scrambler ride with the girls and here you see her putting her finger down her throat because this is how this ride is making her feel. Hee hee.

Maya's first experience in a bouncy castle. The two girls were just cracking us up.
The girls required a little daddy assistance going down the slide.

Spoiler alert:::: Halloween costumes shown below. Mom got Maya this Foofa costume and even though Maya is loving wearing it she is insisting on getting another costume we spotted at Party City. She makes a darn cute Foofa though.

This is the first year Delaney selected her own costume and my main agenda was just to get her away from princesses. She selected "pink bat girl" and has been singing the Batman theme to go along with it. She loves it and I had to hide the costume at home already so it won't be frayed and worn out before Halloween. I have a feeling a lot of little girls love this costume because I have already spotted a few other pink bat girls around but oh well. Delaney is so happy with her choice.

Love these two little Halloween girls.
Maya wishes us all a Happy New Year.
