St. Patricks Day Festival!!!!!

My littlest leprechaun eating her breakfast on the morning of the big St. Pats Festival. She was going to be riding in the stroller with her daddy for the one mile run that morning. Delaney was supposed to participate by actually running but she had a little fever so we didn't want her to do that. She still attended the race, with a little pout, and can't wait to do it next year.

After Randy's run Delaney took over in the stroller because she wasn't feeling very good. I did the 10K run this year and this was the first time they had that available---usually it's just a 5K but they did both this year. Only bad thing about 10K--it was a double loop. So you finished your first 3.2 miles and then---oh!!---same route all over again. Boring. I did really well though. I never train for these bigger runs so I am amazed I can actually do them. I came in 6th in my age category running an 8:00 mile and 120th overall male or female out of 620 runners. Not too shabby!!!

For some reason they made it really difficult to get into the festival after the run. I think they have had a lot of people in the past trade armbands or sneak in without being a runner so they tightened up security this year. Well it was an ultimate cluster because they wouldn't let anyone in and there were runners beginning to get in just for water! Grammy's face shows the frustration we were feeling trying to get in. We just wanted a bloody mary yo!

The girls and I entered The Best Dressed Leprechaun Contest. I have won this 2nd place twice before---once when I was pregnant with Delaney and my shirt said "Leprechaun Inside" and once when Delaney was one and I put her on my back in a carrier dressed like a leprechaun and my shirt said "Is it the Beer or Is that a Leprechaun on My Back?" This year the girls and I all had awesome matching tutus and the girls had monogrammed shirts while I wore funky suspenders basically to hold up my skirt while I was running. We all had a million other accessories as well. The competition was pretty slim for the contest so we won!!!!! $250!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this will become an annual tradition. Better start planning my costume for next year!

The oranges at the awards ceremony were a big hit!

Happy!

Not happy...

Ummmm....way too many pics lately of Delaney doing this....

Thug life leprechaun.

Digging for a paci in Grammy's bag.

My get-up

Thug Leprechaun. Check out her necklace with a whistle that says "blow me". We are always so kid friendly. :)

The whole St. Pats fam.
The annual St. Pats parade always has a bunch of interesting characters....and most of those aren't in the parade itself.

Maya made many trips to the herbie curbie to throw away candy she had received during the parade and after two licks decided she didn't like it.

Maya jammin' out at the St. Pats Festival. And no....she did not have any beer. She just tends to be a little off balance most of the time.
Annual pics in front of Delaney's.

At MLK park they had kids fun so the parents wouldn't feel too bad about embibing later without their kids enjoying themselves for as long as possible. The girls always love a good bouncy castle.

After parade and some fun, the girls went home to rest and then Grammy came to stay with them so Randy and I could return to the festival for people watching, beer drinking, and watching Arrested Development! I so loved that band in high school and they were AWESOME to see live! We ran into my old friend Katie and had such a good time. This truly is the best holiday!
