Happy Halloween!!

Because we didn't really have a spooky Halloween--let me update you on my spookiness. Probably a little TMI going on but oh well. If you haven't heard me say the word "boob" lately then you have been living in a hole. I have had non-stop breastfeeding issues with Maya since she was born but attempted to be persistent and feed her while clenching my teeth in pain. After speaking to lactation consultants (who are the fruit cakes of the world) and going to my OB after a 103 fever, it turns out I had mastitis. Some antibiotics and pain pills later I was doing better but one boob just wouldn't work. Couldn't pump....Maya wouldn't eat from it. I tried calling the lactation consultants, MD's, random strangers to get help on what to do but they either didn't call back (the fruit cakes) or didn't know what to tell me. Sooo....I decided to quit nursing cold turkey, knowing it would hurt but feeling helpless. This was possibly tied with labor regarding pain. Well---as I am actually writing this post on 11-16-10 (because I can't have more than one post about my boob----that would be ridiculous) I am still on antibiotics and painkillers and have clogged ducts, etc.....This has been one of the most painful and awful things I have ever experienced. Let's look at the positive side: Maya had eczema and appeared to have reflux when I was nursing. She would look uncomfortable after eating. Since she started eating formula, her skin cleared up and is beautiful and she sucks down her bottles with no problems. So....the moral of the story is----if my wonderful child is happy----I am happy too. :)

Check out the leg warmers.

The last time officially dressing up as Snow White. Again--as I am writing this post at later date--Delaney continues to wear her costume. We put her to bed at night in her pajamas and she wakes up with those pajamas on---but her costume on top. She is the cutest thing.

Trick-or-Treating in 5 Points

My little munchkin

5 Points always does a trick-or-treat for the kids with the merchants giving out candy. This year they also had a doggie trick-or-treat going on the same time as the kid one (????) which made for sort of a cluster. Still fun though but my dog-loving D had to stop and pet EVERY dog.

Check out the sumo wrestler costume!

My shirt says it all.

A little pole dancing at Harper's before dinner.

Carving pumpkins and TRUMPS Halloween Parade 2010

Miss Bright-Eyed

Me: "Let's make faces that look like our pumpkin faces." Delaney: "OKAY!!!!"

"Make a princess face for the princess pumpkin."

"Make a witch face for the witch pumpkin."

"Make it scarier."

Delaney was a good assistant to her daddy with carving the pumpkin.

The finished product.

Franken-baby.

My two beautiful girls--Snow White and her Hi-ho.

Every ear Delaney's daycare does a Halloween parade where the kids get candy. It is so fun to see all of the kids dressed up. Here are some of Delaney's friends in the Two's room:
Anna Leah, Delaney, and Sarah Beth

Abby a.k.a cowgirl

Callie a.k.a Supergirl

Will a.k.a Batman

Jacob a.k.a Bob the Builder

Delaney and her BFF's: Sarah Beth, Abby, and Callie

Delaney and Libbie

Delaney's entire class. Getting all 10 kids in the pic at one time was a bit difficult.

The original foursome once again at the TRUMPS Halloween parade: Will, Delaney, Libbie, and Sarah Beth. These four were in the infant class together and have remained friends. The Halloween pic has become a tradition.

That night was a Halloween party at Libbie's parents house (a.k.a Caitlin and Fred). Delaney had the best time playing with Libbie and Sarah Beth, Maya took a huge nap even with tons of kids yelling and rocking her chair, and Randy and I had some nice adult time with chili and beer. Good times!

It may not seem like she is doing a lot but these little smiles and play times are priceless. It amazes me how fast your child can turn from a little sweet lump to a ball of personality.

Three cute pics

My little chef. This kitchen was and still is probably the best gift Delaney has ever received because she plays with it every day.

The fam went to the "Scarecrows in the Garden" exhibit at the Hampton Preston mansion. We thought these two resembled Grammy and Nutty.

Which one is the baby and which one is the babydoll?

Two little pumpkins in a pumpkin patch

The Roberts girls in their Halloween gear. Maya gets a little camera shy.

My little squishy pumpkin trying to be a big girl and sit in Delaney's chair.

Delaney's daycare at Trenholm Road United Methodist does a pumpkin patch and we took the opportunity to pose there in the Halloween get-up.

Maya snoozed during the photo shoot.

Boo at the Zoo 2010

My little pumpkin prepares for Halloween wearing her "Dopey" shirt for her Dopey costume.

Here we have the two Roberts girls getting ready for Boo at the Zoo. It is virtually impossible to capture the two in one picture currently but we tried. Delaney is Snow White for Halloween and Maya is Dopey. She will so hate me when she is older for this one. Delaney is totally and completely obsessed with Snow White and we listen to the Snow White CD with Annette Funicello telling the story approximately 522 times a week. Seriously. It is in my car on replay. I use it as bribery for Delaney to be a good girl and it works. "Delaney---if you don't stop that you can't listen to Snow White". "Okay mommy". Delaney a.k.a. Snow White needed her own "Hi-ho" a.k.a. dwarf for Halloween so that is where Maya came in.

Delaney was totally getting bored with trying to pose for the picture while Maya voices her frustration.

My sweet little Dopey...and yes...those are Mr. Potato Head ears.

She looks like a drunk homeless man at a busstop.

We are excited about going to the zoo!

Delaney loves to ride on the statues of animals at the zoo.

Here is the Roberts fam plus Grammy at Boo at the Zoo. Because Maya couldn't partake in the fun---we used the Dopey doll in her place. Check out the bottom right corner. Oh..and if you don't know...Boo at the Zoo is an awesome event at Riverbanks Zoo where all the kids can trick-or-treat at the zoo and they have activities and food and fun. It has become a family tradition.

If there is music Delaney will dance. If there is music, my mom will dance. They are like two peas in a pod.

Scouting out what's ahead.

Maya and her Dopey doll that was used as motivation for the costume.

A trick-or-treat station.

A worried look in front of the graveyard.

We ran into Libbie a.k.a. farmer at the zoo with her sister Lucy, a.k.a. cow, in the stroller behind her.

Randy is a cute vampire isn't he?

My new little princess hit a month old and started playing, cooing, and giving big smiles to her mommy. I love it.
