Almost a White Christmas

At 12:01 AM it snowed in Columbia so it wasn't a white Christmas but a day after White Christmas. Still exciting though!!!

Dave and the kids spent the night with us on Christmas and the girls got up in the morning and enjoyed playing in the snow.

Our little Santa snowman.

I arm myself with a snowball as Delaney grabs the water gun.

Christmas 2010

Delaney was pretty darn happy with her Christmas train set from Santa.

Christmas started out with Delaney and her train set from Santa. She was quite excited. I don't know if you could see the tree from the quick pan with the video camera, but the amount of presents underneath it was quite disgusting. It looks like we have about 12 children to give presents to instead of 2. I don't want to use the word spoiled, but I might have to.

Maya's present from Santa was a play mat with cars on it.

Grammi came over and brought us a huge breakfast, including a breakfast casserole that was just like the one my Grandma Maxine always made. She hung out with us all of the morning for presents and fun and it really made for a wonderful Christmas---laidback and nice. A big big big thank you to my mom for helping to make this the best Christmas that we have had in a while. Oh--and the Silly Putty looks good on your nose.

Sweet Maya was so happy with her first present that she opened--a little hippo jingle toy.

Randy makes his way through his stocking stuffers.

A little bouncing with her daddy.

One of Delaney's first presents that she opened was a Play Dough set. Now this was just an extra little present I picked up at Target one day because it was on sale. Delaney couldn't really get past this present. She LOVED it and didn't want to open any more presents afterwards--she just wanted to go play with it. Next year--I will remember this. Just buy one $5 present from Target and she is set. :)

This was my favorite present that I got Delaney---a McDonald's cash register set with play food, a real working register, play money, and a headset with walkie talkie. This week, I mean when I was little, I could sit and play with this thing for hours.

Maya gets a little nap in after the big present opening. Her batch of new toys stays with her on top of the blanket.

Grammi watched "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" with the girls.

One of them didn't make it through the whole movie. Oh---and check out the baby doll in the pic. This is Delaney's 2nd American Girl doll--the Bitty Baby that came from Ann, Jessica, and Maxie. She LOVES it and changes her diaper and feeds her all the time.

Maya and the doggies take a little snooze on the floor.

Tyson poses with his new chicken toy that was in his stocking.

Olive is not posing with her new chipmunk toy but she loves it. Mia also had a toy in her stocking that of course she hasn't played with. Why do we bother? Oh--because we love her.

Renee and Jack came to give the girls their presents.

Delaney loved her dress up trunk from Renee and Jack that came with 3 princess dresses, and all of the extra bling that goes with them (tiara, shoes, jewelry, etc...)

I got a "cool" new pair of shades in my "Bad Mama" present from Renee.

Christmas night the Roberts clan came (Big Dave, Tinker, Dave, Davis, and Morgan) and had supper with us which was Cincinnati Chili and salad and pumpkin custard pie.

Morgan also got a dress up trunk and the girls dressed alike immediately while Davis ran the show.

The Siamese twins

Super cute Davis

Big D and I try to have a moment of quiet in the Christmas chaos..

...while Dave and Tinker attempt the same thing on the other side.

Delaney, Morgan, and Davis----entertaining as always.

Delaney and Morgan both don their Sleeping Beauty attire to do a little dancing.

It was a wonderful Christmas and I feel so lucky to have my special little family with my incredible husband and two gourgeous little girls.

Christmas Eve 2010

Christmas Eve was very relaxing and enjoyable. We had Renee, Jack, and Dave for dinner and I mixed up their fried chicken tradition and decided on takeout Chinese instead. Hey---all my Jewish peeps do it so why couldn't we??? It was delicious and we enjoyed hanging out for a little while.

A little dogbed watch movie time for the girls.

My sweet little Maya reindeer.

Delaney and I got craft and started a new Christmas Eve tradition---decorating Gingerbread men.

Here are our 4 cookies--Delaney's are the two on the left--with the Delaney cookie on the top and my Mommy cookie on the bottom. My two are on the right--the Randy cookie on the top and Maya cookie on the bottom. I think we did a good job.

All dressed up to play a little Wii.

Gosh I love that smile.

Once again, here is Delaney dancing with the piano. Check out the little leg thing she has going on. Poor dear--I believe she has the grace of her mommy.

Winter Princesses

Better than a ride at the fair.

My little winter princess.

These boots are a favorite of Delaney's. There are many a morning when we go to wake her up and she is wearing them. She has also been putting random things in bed with her. There is this cloth that she got from my cousin Jon in France that is kept in a drawer in her cabinet. She pulls out the cloth and places it neatly on her bed underneath her sheet. If I move it at all she has a small fit and then calmly and neatly replaces it. Odd...but cute.

Winter Princess #2.

I have no idea why these pictures are sideways but I can't fix them. The two girls look so sweet in bed together with their pacis. Delaney just uses hers at bedtime and we haven't tried to break her of the habit yet but it is coming.

Delaney, backwards bib and all, does her singing routine.

Randy squished into Delaney's ball tent for a little fun. I loved that I didn't have to do it.

Getting ready for Christmas

Chillin' with the Christmas spirit.

Maya looking bored as Delaney comes to steal the show.

My hubby Clark Griswald really perfected his lights this year.

The annual candy cane tree lights were even better this year and only took Randy one time to put up. In years past, it has been quite an ordeal with lots of f-bombs and frustration from sweet Randy.

Pretty in Pink and Christmas

We had a holiday drop-in at our neighbor's house and then dinner at Grammi's afterwards. I didn't realize until after me and the girls were dressed that we were all wearing pink and matching. Aren't we cute?? Or obnoxious???

Our Christmas tree

The newest addition to our Christmas fun---Mr. Claus. He arrived with his Missus via Grammi via her friend Kathy. Randy was somewhat horrified and said they should probably be trashed after Christmas because they were so tacky. I view it from the opposite side--they are SOOO tacky that they have to stay!!! It is sort of like the high-heeled shoe lamp from The Christmas Story. You want it so bad and want to display it to everyone.

The Missus

Delaney got a bad cold for all of Christmas week and Nana had to come by to babysit the two girls while I went for a haircut. I arrived back home to find Delaney curled up in her lap fast asleep with Maya next to her on the couch. Nana looked a little worn out herself. It was really really cute.
