Modeling with Maya

My pretty little thing.

Maya is doing good with sitting up with just a little bit of support. Time is going by so fast already!! Sniff sniff..

Silly little Maya faces---she just loves to stick her tongue out.

A little mohawk do.

Maya loves her Johnny Jump up...

...and Delaney loves to push her in it like it is a swing. Maya loves it though and just cackles.

Delaney helps Maya out in her Johnny Jump Up a.k.a. swing

We gave Maya "real" food for the first time which means rice cereal. She definitely enjoyed it!
Maya seems to love the taste of "real" food.

Maya eating still while older child has an absolute fit in the background.

One child still happy eating, other child continuing to scream. I thought about refilming the entire thing to make it a happier occasion but then---it wouldn't have been real. Maya didn't seem to notice any unhappiness though.

Maya takes the spoon for herself while Delaney ups her tantrum in the background. I think some things were thrown. Maya continues to be super happy eating.

Maya makes some really attractive faces while raspberrying it up.

A mini SAWWS visit and some tongue action

Delaney loves to give Mia some lovin'.

My little Maya finds her tongue.

Putting accessories on Maya is so much fun because she really doesn't mind.

Randy always bonds with Maya at night because I go to bed earlier and he stays up for her last bottle around 9:30. Yes---I go to bed that early. I do get up at 5 you know? I don't think Randy minds though because it gives him a little alone time with the little sweetie.

Kim and Becky came to visit the girls and to bring a little champagne toast and some presents because they hadn't met Maya yet.Becky bonded with Maya on the swing.

Delaney loved having girl time outside.

Kim played a silly sound game with Maya.

Delaney pushes Becky on the swing.

After Becky and Kim left, Delaney said, 'I love them'.

The Princess of Hearts

Princess Maya, newly adorned in her princess crown from big sis, chews on her Presley "P" while sitting in her Bumbo.

Like i have said before, I come home in the mornings from the gym at 6:30 to find one or both girls in my bed. Usually they are awake and hanging out--but this time the two of them were fast asleep curled up together.

Maya shows off her new headbands that we got her for Valentine's Day. I know---silly look---but getting a V-Day present for an almost 5 month old is a little tough. I thought she looked beautiful.

And the Oscar goes to.............

A little Olivia Newton John getting 'Physical' with her spaghetti.

Sweet Maya and her giraffe

Delaney spends a lot of time sitting in her little chair with various snacks. Her new favorite food she could eat 3 meals a day is "Fruity Cheerios". Each snack usually has a costume attached to it and today's choice was one half a shape sorter ball on top of her head.

"How much do you love Fruity Cheerios?"

This face spawned what is to follow---a series of Delaney faces with minimal prompts from her mother regarding facial cues but Delaney doing an excellent job of dramatics. (How's that for a sentence?)

"Eat"

"Serious"

"Mad"

"Confused"

"Surprised"

"Silly"

"Happy"

Tapping and Dancing

Maya is loving her exersaucer. She likes it because she can be more social and play and look at Delaney.

My little dancer now has tap shoes. Watch out world. And yes---another damn sideways video.

Maya shows off her dancing to keep up with big sis.

***Some interesting stories from the Roberts fam that I might have mentioned but can't remember:
1) Delaney for some reason has become terrified of the map from Dora. Now she isn't scared of the Wizard of Oz with the wicked witch and flying monkeys but when that map comes on the screen she runs to me and wants big hugs.

2) Maya's favorite thing to do is reach out and touch Delaney. Now this makes Delaney a little tense but Maya just laughs and keeps going. The two of them are already torturing each other.

3) My little ballerina obsessed child checked out a ballet book from the library and I would check in on her at night after she "went to sleep" to turn out her light and I would find her sleeping with it. All curled up like it was a stuffed animal.

4) D's statement when she is mad at you is: "I'm so mad for you".

5) Delaney is mesmerized by Lady Gaga. We sometimes listen to Mommy Music in my car (versus Delaney music which is Disney tunes that I can only listen to for about 127 days in a row before going crazy) and when my IPod landed on Lady Gaga the other day
Delaney wanted to know who that was immediately. I told her and she said "Oooohh...I like her." She LOVES the song "Paparazzi" and will dance to it and knows a lot of the words. It is pretty darn cute. I think she thinks it is about a daddy. Get it..."papa"...daddy.

New Job

We took the kids and the dogs to the park. It made me laugh that we tied up the poor doggies to the trash can.

Delaney's McDonalds playset that she got for Christmas came with a headset for those drive-in moments. Maya borrowed it for a little fun. "Can I take your order please?"

We have let Delaney take control of the "Red Bug" to make Olive crazy. It basically entertains both our child and our dog for hours.

Mom and I took Delaney to the ballet to see Cinderella. Delaney has become somewhat obsessed with ballerinas and with princesses in general and was so so excited.

We told her to look "up" for this picture. My oh so literal child.

Delaney wore her ballet outfit along with tutu to the show. She was so cute.

She was mesmerized and sat enthralled for the entire two hours. I have a feeling I have dance classes in our very near future.

Oh--and I haven't mentioned in my blog that I have a new job!! I started in mid January and it has been awesome. I knew I wasn't going back to my old job when I was pregnant---but they didn't know that. They thought I would be returning after my maternity leave. It feels so good to get that off of my chest now because it was so hush hush for so long. My old job had merged with a larger group at the hospital and it was not going to be good. Very different and not what I wanted for my career. My new job is a new pediatric clinic that just opened and I helped to get it started and organized and get the building into shape for opening. I could go on and on about it but I will just post the website and you can take a look for yourself. www.thetherapyplace.org
The website will be updated soon with new pics and everything so keep looking and checking it out. The clinic was started by two women who have children with special needs and the clinc is family based and really about the children and not about money and productivity, etc...that my old job was going to be. I am very happy. And very busy!!! For a new clinic that just started, we have kids rolling in the front door and it is wonderful. And I also have my good friend Liz there with me which is great. Liz is a speech therapist who worked with me at the old job and she also didn't want to stick around for the cluster it had become. My new job only has 5 employees and we are our own little family. Sweetness.
