Baseball and Car Seats

This past weekend we went to Blythewood to watch Davis' baseball game. I hadn't seen Morgan in forever. She was so beautiful with her curly hair!

Delaney loved being outside at the game and liked watching the action at the fence with her daddy.

Davis looks like a professional out there.

Dave has got his arms full with the two girls. Both Morgan and Delaney have the same big beautiful blue eyes.

I drove out to the dreaded Babies R US this weekend to buy Delaney two new car seats for when she turns one. For my car, we got the cadillac of car seats that looks super duper comfortable. It has this recline feature that is awesome for good car naps and the material is plush and very cozy. The other car seat doesn't have the same features but we definitely need one for each car. Next step---installing them!
I decided to entice Delaney into playing with the car seat box. So glad Randy captured this moment....so glad.

Delaney took the bait!!

She liked playing with the box but the plastic inside the box was much more exciting.

Delaney at Bike Day

Delaney is in the race at Bike Day. She is so determined to keep up with the big kids.

TRUMPS Bike Day 2009

Before heading to Bike Day at daycare, Delaney had some lunch. She pulled her hairbow out which left quite an attractive do.

The three of us laughed at it for a while....

....and then Delaney realized we were laughing at her.

Bike Day was hilarious. They closed off the parking lot and put some cones out. All of the classes, infant through 4's, headed out and it was a big race around the parking lot. There were bicycles, tricycles, and wagons and the kids had a blast.

Delaney and Quaggle try to keep up with the big girls.

TRUMPS Picnic Day

This week was "The Week of the Young Child" and Delaney's daycare celebrated in many ways. On Monday there was a groundbreaking ceremony where all of the classes helped to plant a garden. The infant classes basically sat in the wagons while they teachers planted---pretty smart babies!

On Wednesday there was a picnic at lunch on the playground. All of the babies sat together and had their lunch. Delaney enjoyed her turkey and cheese.

Sarah Beth and her parents share some Chick-fil-A fries.

Libbie gazes longingly at Delaney's food. You'll be eating it soon girl!

Delaney works her way towards Will's brother's fries.

Delaney and her daddy pose at the picnic.

Will tries to steal Delaney's ball.

Obviously, Will didn't get the ball and Delaney is triumphant.

Jack Russell

Delaney bites her spoon and won't let go---just like those Jack Russells.

Whad'ya Know?

My mom is still close with one of her best friends from high school, Lorraine. Lorraine (a.k.a. Mooms) has 3 fabulous daughters: Marjie (Mooj), Heather (Hoobs), and Jill (Jubs). They are all so dear to me and I love them so. Mooms, Jubs, and Jubs' 7 month old daughter Zoe (Zeetles) met my mom, Delaney, and I for dinner at Liberty this Friday. All of the girls had so much fun!
Isn't Zeetles beautiful?

Delaney and Zoe both play with their Wiggly Gigglers.

It took about an hour, but finally the girls realized each other were there.

They were then really interested in one another until Delaney kept trying to poke Zoe's eye out.

Mooms (a.k.a. Mimi) gives her youngest grandchild some sugar.

Jubs looks so beautiful as a new mom.

One of my favorite things in the world is the NPR show "Whad'ya Know" with Michael Feldman. He was in Columbia this weekend and mom and I were so excited. We brought him presents in an attempt to get on the show and I had my Michael Feldman bobble head doll as a good-luck charm. To get on the show, you submit questions. Mine was, "There are 2 USC Teams: Southern California and South Carolina. One is the Trojans and one is the Cocks. Which is the best fit?" I thought it was pretty good. I didn't get on the show but someone else did with a similar theme except they said, if the 2 teams played each other, and Southern California won, it would be Trojans over Cocks. Darn. I also bought Michael Feldman a cup that says "Big Cocks Fan" as a somewhat bribe but alas, neither mom or I got on the show. We still loved it!!!! Michael was wearing a Cocks shirt and had on great guests like the fomer editorial editor of The State, Drink Small, and the owner of Hunter Gatherer.

Mom and I pose with the Michael Feldman bobble head doll.

These pictures are hard to see but the show had a great set.

Here is Michael with his Cocks shirt.

Tax Day 2009

Hee hee....Delaney's onesie says "Tax Deduction". Thank you thank you Auntie Jessica. The staff at her daycare got a big kick out of this one.

Auntie Judy and Uncle O come to visit

My Aunt Judy and Uncle Orlando came to SC from Maine to visit this week. It was so so so wonderful to see them and I already wish I was able to see them longer. They stayed in Charleston because Charleston is definitely a lot more exciting than Columbia. I don't blame them!!! They were so wonderful to drive into Columbia on two different days during their visit to hang out with us. On Easter Sunday, they had dinner with us at the house along with Grammy and Nana. Grammy made a fabulous dinner of beef briscuit, duck, potato casserole, green beans with almonds, and pecan pie! We were stuffed!

Aunt Judy and Uncle O pose for the camera. Next year--they will have been married 50 years!!! They are so much fun to hang out with and I love hearing about my cousins and how they are doing and how their children are doing. I hate that everyone is so far away!

Aunt Judy and Uncle O brought Delaney a bunch of new books for her upcoming birthday. Delaney's favorite so far is Pete's a Pizza. My personal favorite is Sylvester and The Magic Pebble.

On Tuesday, Randy and I had the day off from work and the four of us went to DiPrato's for lunch (best pimineto cheese in the world). We then went to the art museum to see an Impressionist exhibit that consisted of paintings that two sisters from Wales had purchased over the years and then donated to Wales. It was amazing to see Manets, Cezannes, and Van Goghs here in Columbia. There was a painting there by Renoir called "The Parisian Girl" whose name was Henrietta Henroit. My grandmother's maiden name was Henroid--and Judy told me that when her ancestors came to the United States from France, they changed their name from Henroit to Henroid to make it easier. So---I am related to the Parisian Girl!!!

Judy looks surprised while holding Delaney.

Easter 2009

Delaney is the cutest bunny rabbit on Easter morning.

We basically had to show Delaney where her Easter eggs were hiding and then she liked to chew on them.

I love all of these pictures of Delaney all dressed up with her Easter basket in front of the azalea bushes. You couldn't ask for anything more perfect.

The Raisin Dance

Delaney got raisins inside her Easter Eggs. She had never had raisins before and it was like I gave her the best piece of chocolate in the world. She did a little dance after eating each one. It was hilarious.

Wing Fling 2009

The Roberts Family loves a good festival. This was the inaugural year of the Wing Fling which was at the old Columbia Bombers stadium. There was great music, and lots of vendors selling wings. The weather was absolutely gourgeous and we had a blast. My favorite wings were the stuffed mac and cheese wings. Yes---you heard me right. A mixture of 2 of my favorite foods in one. Randy liked the stuffed bacon, jalapeno, and cheedar wings.

Delaney jams out to some tunes.

Lyle and Trey enjoy the sunshine.

Delaney loved being able to roam around in the grass.

Delaney flirted with all of the guys there, especially Aaron.

I gave Delaney pieces of my mac and cheese wing and then she decided she wanted to gnaw on the bone. She loved it.

Okay---before you call social services, the bottle was empty. Delaney was bound and determined to get ours while they were full so when one was empty we handed it to her for a moment to make her happy. No worries---she got to have it for about 5 seconds before we took it away. It made her day. Should I be worried???

The best daddy in the world with his beautiful daughter.

A happy moment before I got sad. On the way home from the Wing Fling I realized one of my diamond stud earrings had fallen out. These were the earrings Randy got me on our first Christmas together. They were so special to me. We immediately turned around and went back and Randy looked at our spot on the field and I searched through all of our belongings. We couldn't find it. My dear sweet husband went back on Monday with a metal detector in the rain to try and find it, but to no avail. I was sad, and am still very sad about it. I loved those earrings so much!
