Nutty and Randy birthday

Maya and I doing some "work" together.
Little Roberts selfie at M Vista.
We celebrated Nutty's birthday at M Vista and then at Trustus to see Ragtime. Larry talked about her birthday at the beginning and everybody clapped. It was nice.

We celebrated Randy's birthday by a little trip to Atlanta to see a Braves game. Randy and I haven't done anything with just the two of us traveling together in a year!!! We stayed at this great hotel The Ellis Hotel downtown and found a little Irish pub a block away where we had beer and I had fish and chips. We then took the Marta shuttle to Turner Field.

Beer and Irish food and baseball go together nicely.

Randy couldn't be any happier right now. Love it.

At the game!
Baseball is so different for me than football. I guess I grew up going to Royals games with my dad so I love baseball games. Now football bores me silly but baseball on the other hand is thrilling. I know most people would argue with me on this one but that's how I feel

Birthdays and Soccer

This is where I found the little birthday princess this morning---in the bathtub playing with her toys.

Happy 37th birthday Randy!!!! The day started out with a doughnut with a candle in it and the three girls singing happy birthday.
The girls never tire of singing this song. And it gets louder and more dramatic each time they do it.
We shopped around for a new soccer team for Delaney for this fall because her old team sort of dissolved. Most of the girls didn't want to play again and the boys were playing on different teams. Delaney and her friends Natalie and Mady wanted to play still so we submitted their names to the Y and got placed on a cute team---still called the Explorers!! The rest of the team are boys and really cute and they were delighted to have these three girls join them. The coaches are Chad (fireman) and his brother Brian and their nephew Layne plays on the team. Delaney has been really into soccer so this season is going to be great!

The girls do have to be told a lot to stop talking and start playing.

The little boy at the front is named Matthew. He is only four and is awesome at soccer. What's funny is that his dad Mike was my band director my senior year of high school. He was only a couple of years older than me, and it was his first job, so he was a little nervous. He is also a Florida State Alumni. Small world!! This giving high fives at end of game and then doing the tunnel is always one of the best parts of soccer game days. Maya waits the entire game to do the tunnel.

Maya's Disney Party at the Park

Because we just went to Disney, we decided to do a Disney themed party at the park for Maya's birthday party. It was at Heathwood Park where Delaney's 2nd birthday party Yo Gabba Gabba was. The invitation said to come dressed as your favorite Disney character so here we have Ariel and Snow White.

I was nervous about the party at first because I planned it on a Saturday morning just trying to work around football. I totally forgot about soccer schedules! This caused a lot of friends to have to miss the party--because they were maybe playing soccer or their siblings were. Delaney had to miss her first game because of the party. People were so nice though and some came after the games. It actually worked out well though because we invited Maya's whole old class and whole new class and if everyone had been able to come it would have been WAAAY too many kids so it worked out perfectly. I always drive myself crazy for nothing.

The party was a great mix of "old" and "new" friends from Maya's old school and new school and lots of good friends there too. Here is Abby, the Roberts' girls, and Lillian.

Carson

Sandy---Maya's new BFF. Neat story on this one--her mom Leila and I are very good friends. We met each other through tennis and therapy several years ago---she is a pediatric speech therapist. Over the years we discovered each other are Jewish and then last year put it together that her parents grew up with my uncle David and knew my mom and aunt well and that all of our grandparents were very close a long time ago. So basically we now have yet another generation of good friends. Love this.

Trinity and her mom Cathy. Cathy told me at the party that they were moving to Florida in 2 weeks. So sad! I worked with Trinity for several years and grew close to the family. Going to miss them so much!!!

Three cuties---Lilly, Maya, and Abby

The candles wouldn't light at first because of the big industrial fan at the picnic shelter at the park. I saved this video mostly because I love how Sandy leans over the table to stick her finger in the cake. Maya gets the princess cake she wanted. Look at that tongue go!!!!
Sarah Beth and Maya basically destroyed the cake by running their fingers through the icing. I didn't stop them---they were having too much fun.

Here is Zeke---there are other boys in Maya's class but he was the only one who was able to come to the party. He was a trooper!!!

Delaney with her original and always BFF---Sarah Beth

Lucy showed up after her soccer game and had some cake and played with her besties.

Lilly and Maya are really like peas and carrots. They are so much alike and such good friends.

The cousins hugs like they will never see each other again.

It was a great party and Maya loved playing at the park with all of her friends. Happy 3rd birthday my sweet girl!!!

Delaney had another party that afternoon--her friend Meredith from her old school was turning 6. The party was at a gymnastics place and Delaney was super excited.

Bouncing across the big trampoline.

Delaney did this bouncy trapeezy thing at the gymnastics party. She loved it.
Maya opened her presents later that afternoon. Maya is really not a presents girl like Delaney was and is. She really is happy with about one thing and we had to make her open all of her presents. Now I am not saying she isn't grateful---but she really doesn't need much to make her happy. Very good quality my sweet girl.

Big bow head.
