Found Maya sleeping like this in her crib. Now that's a laid back baby.
I took Delaney and Maya to one old my oldest friends Jennifer's daughter (Keely) birthday party at EdVenture. This is not Keely but another cute little girl who was there.
This is the pose I get when I tell Maya to smile.
EdVenture was cute and had the kids parade around the museum with sticks and shouting "Happy Birthday Keely!"
Keely got to sit in the big chair in front of Eddie for her happy birthday song.
This was just too funny.
We did our annual Saluda Shouls lights walk. The weather was beautiful. Maya loved the Cinderella carriage lights of course.
Delaney has been quite obsessed with Annie lately. She sings "Tomorrow" a million times a day. Her teacher says that she heard her in the bathroom at school singing it at the top of her lungs. That's my future Broadway star.
Randy with the turkey hat for the annual Boys and Girls club Turkey Day 5K and 1 mile run.
Delaney was supposed to do the 1 mile run with her daddy but 1) the stroller's tires were flat and we didn't have pump and 2) she sort of wimped out while attempting to run because it was cold. Poor doodle bug. She is such a speedy thing and hasn't seen her true potential yet!
My little Maya was all wrapped up for the cold!
Getting ready for the race. My mom gave me money to get running clothes for winter---finally!! I loved the pants I got but didn't realize they were "quitters" until I started running. I had to keep one hand on them the entire time I was running so the people behind me wouldn't see ass crack. And my running mix went haywire on my ipod so I didn't have the best mix of songs. Oh well. My time still rocked....:)
Somebody got booted from the stroller.
Me running at the end of the race with my little fan club watching. I love that!!!
Delaney in her Thanksgiving attire. She decided to do the headband Olivia Newton John "Physical" style.
Uncle Dave brought Davis and Morgan over to play and Delaney and Randy introduced them to their favorite game of swing and have someone throw the big ball to you and then you KICK it as far as you can.
Maya was too busy making phone calls to play with the other kids.
Must be important call....
Capturing the cousins
Yay!!! Perfect cousin pic!
Grammy did Thanksgiving dinner and she bought the girls "A Charlie Brown Christmas" to watch before we ate.
Our attempt at a self-portrait sadly failed.
Thanksgiving weekend was when we decided to do the 3-day potty training method with Maya. We did this same method with Delaney when she turned 2 and after about a week it "worked" with Delaney so we did the same with Maya. You put the child in a shirt and underwear and basically don't let them out of your sight for 3 days. Whenever it looks like they might start to pee you rush them to the potty and let them go in it. If they start to pee or poop you do the same thing. Maya only had ONE accident over the weekend but instead was somewhat traumatized about going potty. She would hold it for hours and scream and sit on the potty and not go. It was heartbreaking and appeared cruel and at one point Randy and I begged her to put a diaper on but she refused. She wanted to do it but was just scared. The method worked though and she no longer wears diapers but just wears a pull-up at night. She has been dry most mornings so I don't think that will last for long. Maya will yell out for one of us to get her so she can go potty. Thank goodness we got her a bed for Christmas so she can start getting up on her own!! (Will miss my baby in a crib though....)
Check out the undies.....As I am writing this post two weeks later my baby is doing awesome going potty and lets us know every time. She has only had a couple of accidents at school and these are mostly due to not sitting far back enough on the potty. Big girl!!!
Cutie pie after bath time on her potty.
The sisters having a potty moment together. Delaney has been incredibly patient and kind during this process. Maybe she remembers how traumatizing it was for her. I forgot that Delaney didn't catch on as quick as Maya has. Delaney had a lot more frequent accidents and would sneak off to pee in places like on her bed. I think I blocked those memories.
Just trying to capture my two pink ladies with both looking at the camera and both smiling. It's too stinkin' hard. They both are still too cute though.
At Delaney's last soccer game of the season we captured a team picture. Delaney is the tall one standing on the right. Not all of the kids made it into the pic but here are most of them. I must say that Delaney ended up being the best girl on the team this year! YAY!!!!!!
Ooh---that face.
"I turn you into a FROG!"
My little running soccer girl.
Delaney and I went to Lillian's 4th birthday party. Lillian is the big sister to Trinity (a.k.a. "bean") who is a little girl I have been seeing for OT for about 1 1/2 years now. I have become good friends with her mom Cathy and love both little girls a lot. Lillian had a princess bowling party that was so much fun!
Delaney LOVED bowling. She stood there the whole time handing balls to other people and playing over and over again.
Lillian had a princess birthday cake and was so excited about singing the birthday song.
Delaney was Lillian's buddy at the party, of course helping her open all of her presents.
Randy made a big leaf pile in the backyard and the girls LOVED jumping into it. Who needs toys?
Randy made a big leaf pile in the yard and the girls loved jumping into it.
That night we had our friend English's surprise birthday party at our friend Niki and Mark's house. English had no clue and thought the 6 of us were going out to dinner. Little did she know that a big group of her friends and family were waiting to surprise her! The theme was Guns 'n Roses and Niki had their whole house decorated with heavy metal albums and buttons, etc....Here is the cake that Steve had made with the Appetite for Destruction Theme. Rock on!
Randy designed a poster for English with English's face put in where Slash was. So here is Axl Rose and English/Slash and the real English with her new poster.
A big group of English's family and friends surprised her for her birthday with a Guns 'n Roses surprise party with fun decorations and festivities. She was so surprised!
Niki and Sarah with their tats. There were temporary tattoos on every table in their house and I must say that we all got a little excited about placing them EVERYWHERE. The next time I had to remove quite a few. It's good they were temporary!!
Randy upped the fun with leaves and added a leaf pile to the bottom of the slide on the playset.
Randy expanded the leaf fun by placing the leaf pile underneath the slide. This added a whole other dimension to it and the girls loved sliding down into the leaves. The fun increased again when Maya rode on Delaney's lap down the slide. Woo hoo!!
These pics look like mini-WWF but really Maya had a blast with Delaney throwing her into the leaf pile.
After an exciting time playing in the leaves it was time to chill in the swing.
Then it was time to chill on Tyson's new dog bed. He completely tore up his old one and this one was the mac daddy.
This little shithead, I mean squirrel, tore up all of our pumpkins. It started with the Halloween pumpkins where princess and witch pumpkin would start to have limbs missing from the chewing and then once Halloween was gone we had little pumpkins out for fall decorations and the little shit moved on to them. I guess in the end catching him was pretty cute as he was nibbling away but when I would come home each day and see yet another little pumpkin missing it was starting to tick me off!
