Thanksgiving Week

We did our annual walk at the lights at Saluda Shoals Park. This is a 3 mile walk (which you can also run as a race)where they decorate the whole park with Christmas lights. It is so much fun!!

It rained again this year as it has all of the other years. That's okay---at least it wasn't cold.

Delaney loved seeing all of the lights---especially all of the "Bambi" a.k.a. reindeer. She rode in her stroller for ~2 miles and then wanted to get out and be in the race. Delaney full out ran for almost the whole last mile. She was hilarious. The course was situated with runners heading in one direction going back and the walkers heading the other way. It was divided by cones and Delaney was running so fast and looking at the lights versus in front of her and she kept getting in the runners way. They thought it was really cute though. I have never seen a two year old run the way she did and so fast. She is definitely running the next race with me!!

And speaking of that---on Thanksgiving morning I did my annual race. It was the Turkey Day 5K that was downtown. Now considering I have only run about 5 times since I was 4 months pregnant, I think I did pretty damn good! The course was awesome with the uphills at the beginning and downhills at the end. Here are my stats:

199 48/342 250 JULIET ROBERTS 34 F COLUMBIA SC 25:41 8:16

Randy and Delaney were waiting ~50 yards from the finish line and Delaney was waiting to run with me. I grabbed her hand and we took off running but she got tired a little too quickly and wanted to be picked up so I swooped her up and ran across the finish line holding her. I so wish we had a camera to capture the moment but forgetful mommy forgot.

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Phil and Debbie's along with a bunch of other people. Carrie was there and loved spending time with little Maya.

One of Maya's favorite people is her Nana.

Little Miss Beautiful and her Daddy.

Larry loves him some Baby Maya. Thankfully Larry and Joe were able to come to Thanksgiving because they almost didn't make it. They took Joe's parents to the new Nickelodeon theater for a little tour and Joe's dad fell through a hole in the ceiling. Thank goodness he didn't break anything but was shooken up and in some pain. Mr. Hudson rested and didn't join us for the meal but Mrs. Hudson was there with Larry and Joe and we all ate large amounts of food and enjoyed spending the time together. Other people that were there: Dave, mom, Matt----and Delaney of course. She is not pictured because she spent most of the time in a bedroom watching a movie. She even ate in there. I feel bad because she was a little antisocial but she hadn't napped and was a little cranky.

Maya is demonstrating how we all feel on Thanksgiving night.
