Cars

Maya has basically been spending every waking minute on her new car. She will sometimes hold the actual phone as an accessory or she will use another object as her "phone".

Maya LOVES her new car. You see here she has the Foofa phone.

The fam came over to celebrate Randy's birthday. Nutty got him an early Thanksgiving present---a lovely turkey hat.

It's another sideways video but just showing how much Maya loves a good balloon.

One football Saturday when Randy was tailgating, I took the girls to Heathwood Park to meet up with Ellis, Sarah Beth, Callie, and their mommies. These four are precious together and they got so excited to see each other even though they had just seen each other the day before.

Maya was the only baby in the bunch but she entertained herself with drinking some water and eating some sand.

Delaney mostly tries to take Maya's things away from her but I can occasionally capture a sweet moment such as this in which Delaney wanted to give Maya hugs and kisses.

Oh the sweetness.

Delaney loves to push Maya in her car. Don't worry--there was no whiplash. Maya loves it.

For Randy's birthday we went to the Viva La Vista festival to celebrate. This is a festival in the Vista where lots of restaurants have booths where they sell little samplings of their food. They have music and beer and wine and it's a good time.

Laney had a little snuggle moment while we were dancing to the music.

Eating up some popcorn at the festival.

Maya turns one!!!!

Randy and I did our birthday morning song like we have done for Delaney in the past. Poor little Maya's room was a little dark and I think the bright light got to her a little bit.

The birthday girl and the birthday balloon that will never go away. (Writing this post on October 13th and it is STILL in our house)

She LOVES to climb

Maya is now the biggest and oldest girl in the Infant 2 room at school and she likes to climb to the top of the play structure to prove it.

Our big present to Maya was this little riding shopping cart. Not sure which Roberts girl likes it better. It is so funny because it makes this little Beep Beep noise every time Maya rides around on it. We definitely know where she is in the house.

We also got Maya this little gumball machine that has balls that you put in and they go down a slide and then you turn a lever to get them out. I am so proud of my child for loving this toy that does not require batteries.

That night we celebrated with more birthday cupcakes.

Oh my gosh.

The girls' daycare sends home a birthday bear so the child can basically hang out with a stuffed bear for a night and then give it back. I personally find the tradition a little barbaric because what child wants to give back a toy? Anyhoo--here is birthday bear with Maya.

Delaney and I sang Happy Birthday to Maya a little late---after her cupcake and not before. You can probably tell that from looking at Maya's face and hair.

Parks and Patheticness

We explored the park near our new house and we decided we liked it!!

Randy and I watched this documentary about heroin addicts on the National Geographic channel and we were watching homeless people on the street, etc....We went upstairs to go to bed and found Delaney on the guest bed mattress on the floor covered by the egg carton mattress. We haven't set up that room yet so she took advantage of the things being on the floor. It was just so sad and pathetic. Especially after watching homeless crack heads on the street and here was our poor daughter on the mattress upstairs fast asleep. Poor little D just hasn't quite adjusted yet.

Maya's First Birthday Party!!

The party started with two relaxed cousins in a dog bed.

Maya's birthday orange balloons.

We did a pumpkin theme for two reasons: 1) Her birth announcements were pumpkin so I just went with the original. 2) Maya is truly a little pumpkin. From the thighs to the cheeks.

Our spread courtesy of Grammy.

Pumpkin hanging accessories and little pumpkins everywhere.

Maya was decked out in her "1" onesie and handmade tutu courtesy of Cathy---my little jellybeans's mom. Jellybean (obviously not her real name) is a little girl I treat at work that I absolutely adore. Her mom is super crafty and made her this adorable pumpkin tutu. Bubba jumped in this shot with me and my birthday cutie.

Maya showed off her fridge magnets to Carson and Keely.

Keely is my friend Jennifer's little girl who is just a couple of months younger than Maya. She is so cute!!

Carson shows me that she is one.

Keely and Maya's dance off

My friend Jennifer is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We hadn't seen each other for a long time until about a month ago and we went out to dinner and reconnected. She is so special to me and I was so excited that she and her husband Anthony brought their daughter Keely to the party.

Maya admires her birthday balloons.

"I'm one!"

The birthday tiara that lasted a second.

Waiting on the cake and wondering what everyone is doing.

Maya gets her pumpkin smash cake at her first birthday party. She is dainty at first.....

And here's where the fun begins.

Maya LOVES her some smash cake.

Delaney and Morgan have their pumpkin cupcakes.

Looking a bit worn out after the cake but still ready to open presents.

Anthony, Jennifer, and Keely

A typical scenario---Delaney snatching Maya's toy from her and Maya having a mini-fit. It happens approximately 12 times an hour.

Just showing who was there at Maya's party.

Maya in her favorite present---her personalized armchair from Grammy.

Maya looks rougher and rougher in these pics---a mixture of massive amounts of sugar and overstimulation. My sweet child.

Right before Nutty went to take Maya for a bath she had a bit of a bottle--looking quite sleepy. Nutty was awesome at the party---she really helps so much with the girls and I was so grateful.

After a bath Maya still managed to eat dinner after eating almost her entire smash cake.

Delaney and Morgan had a little dinner too.

Maya and Keely continued to play nicely together as the men watched the football game in the other room.

It was a wonderful party and I can't believe my sweet baby is one!!!
Happy 1st Birthday to my little pumpkin Maya!!!
