Delaney's 4th Birthday Party Mermaid Style

The beautiful mermaid in her mermaid bathing suit gets ready for her big splash birthday party.
The little troll under the bridge. Sorry Maya...bad Dora reference.
Delaney's birthday party was at the Splash Pad at Saluda Shoals Park.I got there early to get the stuff out and decorate for the festivities. The Splash Pad is basically what it sounds like....a big concrete slab with awesome water features that spray water out at kids.
Two pesky little squirrels were driving me crazy during the setup. Ballsy little creatures.

Maya was excited to see her Uncle Dave.
One of my oldest friends Jennifer came with her adorable daughter Keely who is obsessed with shoes. Sound like anyone who know who name rhymes with Kaya?
Abby's dad found a little frog and the girls were excited.
Stella said "This is the best party ever!!!"
Maya was a little nervous about the water so spent most of her time snacking.
Snacking or hanging out with Nutty was fun.
For the kids who needed a break from splashing there was the huge playset.
Having a snack and getting ready for cupcakes.
My sweet mom took this video to capture the cupcake moment but she is a little inept with the camera. Love her dearly and so glad she captured the moment.
I had ordered 3 dozen blue cupcakes from Publix and Randy and I were going to get crafty with them. I was going to sprinkle graham cracker crumbs (beach) and we spent a lot of time finding perfect toppings and ended up finding gummy fish and starfish to place on top. When I ordered from Publix I stated I just wanted a Little Mermaid cake topper to buy so I could place it on Delaney's super size cupcake but she loves Ariel so. Well--when I went to pick up the cupcakes I guess they misunderstood and made a huge pull-apart cupcake cake with Little Mermaid scenery. I was a little pissed at first but when Delaney saw it at the store she just fell in love so I had to get it. The party was about her right??? I wanted a Martha Stewart moment and my little one just wanted her Disney princess. No matter what---it was really delicious.
Caron, Anna Leah, and Morgan loving their cupcakes.
Keely really loving hers.
Elizabeth with Lily
Cathy with Trinity
You know these two....
Will, Price, Lily, and Rawlins
Joseph and Daniel
Libbie and Lucy
Mady, Stella, and Heath
Cheryl and Callie
Grammy trying to entice Maya into the water...
....then I gave it a shot....
....and it's a no go...
....but playing with Keely is fun....
...but sometimes Keely prefers to hug poles.
The shy little mermaid wanted to put on her real mermaid outfit after she ate her cupcake.
Good pals Libbie and Delaney
Daniel is the cutest thing and I think he might have a little crush on D. He brought Delaney a Rapunzel doll for her present and that is the only thing she had asked for as a birthday present. He was dreamy in her eyes after this.
"Baby"...."Baby"....you're both almost the same ages silly girls.
Let's just hug on it.
After a busy party day, neither girl napped....WHAT???!!!!!....so we played outside in the sandbox.
Maya got a little messy so spent the rest of the afternoon in her diaper.
Delaney changed into yet another party outfit to eat dinner.
Opening her presents was great and her friends gave her so many wonderful things. Thank you all!!!
A favorite present was the tiara making kit from Carson. On Mother's Day we made one and Delaney loved it. Speaking of Mother's Day...two stories: 1) After seeing the poor quality of my pics from my iphone, Randy felt really sorry for me and got me a super duper new camera that is possibly the most incredible camera I have ever seen. He promises this is absolutely the last one he will ever buy. He said that taking pics and doing the blog and stuff is my life so I really needed a camera. So....good quality pics from now on!!! Yay!!!   2) Delaney made me a mother's day card at school and I guess the teachers asked her to name some reasons why she loved me and they wrote them down. It consisted of a) drives me to school, b) puts me to sleep, and c) works really hard. It made me kind of sad because it wasn't really sugary sweet things. I went to dinner with some moms from daycare and was talking about it. Raven told me that Sally's said "My mom gives me snacks", and Noel said that Stella's said "She takes me to the mountains" and they have never been to the mountains. I felt much better afterwards. :)
