Gamecocks and Water Slides

I took the girls to the Main Library to see some of the Gamecock football players reading books to kids. It was a really festive event with tons of kids and the football players were really sweet. Cocky did some pre-game show entertainment as usual. It was a little loud so my eldest child got clingy and whiny.

The Gamecock Football players burst through the banner before they read to kids at the library. There were hundreds of kids there and it was festive and awesome.
My youngest child on the other hand was perfectly happy but was acting up in the form of trying to strip her clothes off and lying on the ground swishing her hair around and saying "I'm a mermaid!". It could have been a really pleasant experience....but unfortuanetly it wasn't.

The football players all signed autographs for the kids after the reading. While waiting in lines Maya decided to go all noodle on me and I basically had to drag her around. Meanwhile pout-puss was in full out whine mode. We brought Randy's Gamecock flag for the players to sign. I don't know who these two were but they were very sweet. You wouldn't guess these two girls were crazy at this event because of their sweet smiles here. We only got a few autographs because I had to get out of there!!!!

Randy and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary this year. For presents, he of course went overboard and got me dresses, a facial, and a record player!!!!!!!!!!!! I have wanted one for so long so play my dad's records which are amazing consisting of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elton John, etc.....The record player he got me also has a CD player and cassette deck so watch out old mix tapes---you are getting played!!!! So I wouldn't get yet another present wrong...I gave him a sweet card that states he can get whatever he wants....within reason. He opted to get a soft top for his new Jeep Wrangler. Yeah....did I mention he got a new car...as in NEW car??? Yeah----didn't think that was going to happen. It is a beautiful car but ridiculous on gas mileage and basically not practical for a family. Can you tell I am not too fond of it? Oh well. Anway....the girls here in this pic are listening to my old Snow White record. I love my little mini me's so.

We took the girls to Palmetto Falls...the water park at Fort Jackson. Now if you remember my post from last year----it wasn't the most pleasant experience for Delaney. Maya had a blast in the splash area and kiddy pool but Delaney went down the bigger slide with Randy and scraped her torso and basically couldn't recover from that injury. We think this year will be much better.

Maya loved stomping around the one foot kiddy pool. She couldn't believe she could WALK in the pool!

Going down the mini frog slide in the kiddy area.

Delaney with her daddy at the top of the slide. And she did it!!!! She then did it again and I caught her at the bottom and then did it all by herself!!! Today also marked the first day that she jumped in the pool by herself! She is now a jumping machine. Delaney has stated that she now wants to be a swim instructor when she grows up. And to think she wouldn't put her face in two months ago!

Delaney and her daddy tackle the water slide together at Palmetto Falls. What a difference a year makes on this one----Delaney did it with her daddy first, then by herself with me catching her at the bottom, and then all by herself. So proud!

Maya jumping off the little umbrella area in the kiddie pool.

We had a BLAST Palmetto Falls! We are definitely coming back one more time before the season ends.
