Potty Trained!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are Delaney's new flower lights from IKEA. She loves them. This is how I usually find her after a nap---lights on and everything in her room piled on her bed.

Delaney having a mommy moment---freezing inside the house.

This picture captured a happy moment from the weekend from hell....I mean the potty training weekend. Being my anal retentive self---I decided to try this method I found online called the "3 Day Potty Training Method". I bought the little manual and read up and thought Memorial Day weekend would be perfect because it gave me an extra day.
This is how the plan works in a nutshell: 1) Throw out diapers 2) Put Delaney only in t-shirts and big girl panties 3) Don't leave Delaney's side for 3-4 days---to pee, cook, do laundry---anything. 4) Capture Delaney with every accident and race her to the potty.

OK---sounds simple right???? Well--me being a person who likes to stay on the move it was very difficult to sit right beside Delaney for 4 days. I love her---but you don't realize how precious it is to go get a glass of water from the kitchen by yourself. Bless his heart---Randy was supposed to help but had to work all weekend so it was just me and the Doodlebug. I don't know who cried more...poor Delaney from the accidents and me driving her crazy ("Back up mommy!!!!") or me from blaming myself for each accident and being emotionally exhausted. Anyhoo---Day 3 was the worst and Day 4 was slightly better but not great. I was beginning to get real frustrated but then had to keep on trucking and bring her to Daycare on Day 5.
The week at Daycare had its ups and downs but wasn't that bad..........and then.....

***Note---this was written actually on June 6-------Delaney is potty trained!!!!
She says "I need to go potty" and will even let me know this at public places (Publix, etc...) and has no fear about those restrooms and will stop fun activities such as swimming to go inside and use the potty. She will still wet herself sometimes at night...but I know that is harder. Nothing a good pair of training pants won't help with! That way she is wet and comes and gets me to use the potty but her bed stays dry. No more diapers for this family!!!!!!! As Delaney would say..."I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So it took a week--not 3 days----but we did it. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both Delaney and I feel like freakin' rock stars.

Forest Acres Festival

The fam went to the Forest Acres Festival on Saturday. If we had known how much fun it was going to be--we would have planned a longer outing. But we didn't know--and Randy and I had to go to the USC Baseball game that day. (Sorry little D) Delaney's favorite part was hugging all of the friends she saw there. Here is Clifford...a.k.a. doggie

..pig cow...

...and big doggie.

Delaney thinks she is bigger than she is and really wants to do the jump castles, slides, etc...Once in the jump castle, she doesn't jump and wants to leave, and on the slide she freezes at the top.

Thank goodness Daddy is there to help her down.

Potatoes, Kitties, and Concerts---Oh My!!!!

Delaney got a Mrs. Potato Head for her birthday from English and it is her most favorite present. Here is one of her new creations.

Mia likes to cuddle with Delaney in her bed before she goes to sleep at night. Mia listens to books and then gets the boot before the actual night-night time. I don't want poor Delaney to go through what Randy and I do at night---Mia climbing all over you. She is a big heffa.

Here is Simba. Simba is Kathleen and Chris' cat that we are watching until they find a permanent home. (For them---not Simba. Long story. They sold their house, don't have new one...living with friends---poor Lee family). Glad I took pic of Simba because the little outside kitty doesn't like our porch--she likes the neighbor's porch. I feed and water each day and I think she might visit but not sure.

Here is my little superstar in the TRUMPS Spring Fling Concert 2010. Her class was doing "Rain Rain Go Away" and they were all dressed in rain gear. Delaney and Libbie seemed to be the only "participants" rocking back and forth and then clapping enthusiastically at the end. Sarah Beth and Abby preferred to talk to their mommies or run down the aisle. It was an adorable show and Delaney was so proud of herself.

The mommies had to scoop up their super stars after the big performance.

Baseball and Pics with Patti

I'm sure Delaney was begging for something in this pic. But how could I resist this face?

We went to Davis' last baseball game for the season out in Blythewood. Delaney and Morgan ran and ran and played and played.

A little ring around the rosy

Davis and Morgan keepin' it real.

One of Delaney's teachers, Mrs. Patti, is also a professional photographer and we got her to take pictures of Delaney to celebrate her turning 2. Patti suggested Sesqui State Park which is a beautiful park really close to us. This is a little sneak peek of the pics but absolutely nothing close to the final outcome. I got my disc from Patti already and the pictures are incredible!!!! I have been trying to decide which ones to get and they are all so beautiful. She really captured Delaney in some great candid moments. Delaney did so well because she loves Mrs. Patti and was so comfortable with her. I can't wait for everyone to see the real pics!!!

Sliding with daddy....

Sliding with random child....

Two of Patti's kids were there to help and they were absolutely adorable. The best 9 year old and 14 year old I have been around. Their names were Austin and Cheyenne and they were too cute.

Delaney was exhuasted after her super modeling session.

It's so hard to be this beautiful.

New House and the Pool is Open!!!

Grammy bought Delaney a house for her birthday and she just loves "Laney's House". It is full of activities and Delaney likes to store her bubbles and chalk in it.

Checking the mail...

Randy and Delaney marked this year's pool season with a quick swim. They said it was a little cold but they were troopers.

Our little doodlebug is going to learn how to swim this summer. She loves getting in the pool so we are excited about swimming!!!

Yo Gabba Gabba Birthday Party!

Delaney had her birthday party at Heathwood Park which is a beautiful park here in town near my high school. We invited all of her friends from school and other family and friends. Lots of people came and the weather was beautiful and it was a wonderful wonderful day. BIG BIG BIG thank yous to Jessica who took all of the pictures for me today. I couldn't have done it without you!!!!

Here I am posing in front of the food and drink and party favor tables before all of the guests arrive.

Will in the tunnel.

Delaney and her boyfriend Will on the slide.

One of Delaney's favorite things that day was to swing with Addy pushing her. Addy was so good with Delaney. The two of them rarely left each other's side.

Just a swingin'

Abby and her mommy Heidi arrive at the party.

A serious Callie face.

Callie and her mommy Cheryl.

Sideways Nutty does a dance to get the kids inside for dancey dance and cupcakes.

Davis definitely leads the pack at Delaney's birthday party with dancey dance time.

Delaney digs into her Biggie cupcake but still eyes Davis' cupcake.

Theron chows down on his cupcake.

The Crosby family arrives.

Sarah Beth models her sunglasses---these were one of the party favors that came in the super cool YGG jam boxes that we gave out to the kids. They loved them!

Sarah Beth and Claire eye the big Dora birthday present.

After a small push from Sarah Beth over the present, Claire bit the dust so SB's daddy came to the rescue.

As I chat with SB's mommy and daddy, Nana and Delaney play a game of peek-a-boo...

...and high five.

After the party we got home and Delaney had a bath and dinner and then opened all of her presents. She loved the new bear from Jessica.

And the special treat from Bubba and Nonna that was hiding inside the singing Elmo card which was another favorite.
