Delaney has been taking a weekly dance class at school and I went to a class because they don't have a recital after the summer session. All of the little girls were so cute in their leotards and the class as a whole did much better than I thought they would. Delaney is quite coordinated I must say and I could tell that the teacher adored her. We have already signed her up for classes in the fall. The class really works out great because the teacher comes right to the school and pulls the girls out from class for one hour each week. I love that Delaney gets to take a real dance class with all of her friends. It would be so hard to take her after work so it makes me feel good that she can still do things like this.
Delaney in her dance class at school doing "Under the Sea". I like the choreography and my little pumpkin is quite coordinated I must say.
Miranda spent some time at work with me because she is interested in occupational therapy. She loved my work and it was great having her there so I could spend more time with her. She came home with me at the end of the day and the girls loved seeing her there when we went to pick them up.
Delaney decorated Miranda with a pop-bead necklace.
My little sweetheart loves The Little Mermaid song even though she hasn't seen the movie yet. Thank you Target for singing dolls that Delaney loves and we visit weekly.
Delaney looks a little shy while singing Cinderella.
Delaney and I went to her friend Anna Leah's birthday party at Monkey Joes. Monkey Joes is one of those enormous places with eight million inflatable bouncy houses in it. Basically hell with air. But Delaney LOVES it and all of the kids have the best time.
In the party rooms the birthday girl gets to sit in a big inflatable chair.
Randy and I took Delaney and Miranda to Palmetto Falls which is the water park located on Fort Jackson. Randy and Miranda took on the slides and I played with Delaney in the kiddie zone where Delaney went down the three foot alligator slide approximately 4000 times. She loved it and loved running through the sprinkler area too. For a girl who doesn't like water in her face while in the pool she loved being splashed at the water park. I was really proud of her. Anyway---Delaney was exhausted when we got home and sat with Miranda on the couch. Miranda was busy trying to watch the next to last Harry Potter before Randy and I took her to see the final Harry Potter in 3-D at the movie theater.
Peek-a-boo!
Maya plays in the bars in our breakfast area while pretending to be on the phone. She is so funny bringing her hand up to her ear like it is a phone.
Delaney cuddles up to Miranda on the couch and takes a little nap.
Ever since Maya started eating finger foods, she has become a human garbage disposal for anything she can pick up. Here she is eating cracker pieces off of the table.
Maya has now started drinking, sometimes successfully, water from a sippie cup. She tries that out and then goes for the cracker on the floor that got away. Oopsie on the five second rule.
Who does she remind you of? I didn't think about it when I got Delaney dressed in the morning but when I went to pick her up that day apparently all of the staff at daycare had been calling her Britney. As in Spears. As I am personally a big fan of the Brit---I was happy. Randy...not so much.
Self portrait
Have I mentioned that I call my little sweet one a Treasure Troll? I say that name with fondness and affection.
Princess Treasure Troll
Cutest Treasure Troll there ever was.
I sent Delaney to school recently in a little schoolgirl looking outfit with pigtails in her hair. Her teachers all started calling her Britney. Well we immediately had to start practicing her saying "Oh Baby Baby". Delaney got it down perfectly.
Dave and Davis and Morgan came over to hang out and go swimming.
Maya loves to get on her daddy's shoulders.
Absolutely nothing really exciting in this video but Maya has adorable face at beginning and I just love capturing real moments like this with her yawning. It makes me realize, like I do each day, that each moment is priceless and my girlies are growing up way too fast.
We went to Tag It Art to celebrate Libbie's third birthday. They always have weekly themes and birthday party themes and the theme for today was "The Little Mermaid". All of the little girls made mermaids and Delaney, who has never seen that movie, but has become obsessed with Ariel, was in heaven. Not really sure how she is so obsessed but she does have an Ariel doll and loves the music, etc....After the art the kids enjoyed Little Mermaid cupcakes. This is always Delaney's favorite part of a party.
The favorite part of today's party was that Ariel actually attended. Ariel, a.k.a. Tag It Art worker, showed up and the girls went bonkers. Delaney couldn't stop staring and just wanted to hold her hand. The girls were so cute and Sarah Beth asked her where her tail was and Ariel was very quick to respond and said that she has legs when she is out of the water. Good job Ariel.
Nana made Delaney another outfit and this one is a little tank dress with Fancy Nancy all over it. Delaney loves it and her little friends at school think she is pretty cool.
Delaney singing one of her favorites yet again. I love it every time.
This is the video I made to enter the Man vs. Food Nation contest. Man vs. Food is this show on The Travel Channel where Adam Richman travels across the US to various restaurants and tastes their food and then enters an eating contest at the end. The eating contest usually consists of some 10 pound burger or something that he has to eat within 30 minutes. It is gross and fascinating at the same time. Well---Adam started a new show called Man vs. Food Nation where he gets other people besides him to enter eating contests. He put out a contest for new people on the show to submit a video stating who you are, where you are eating, and why you should be on the show. Columbia, SC has absolutely no restaurants with current eating contests so I chose one of my favorite locations---Rockaway Athletic Club. They have the best pimiento cheese fries in the world.
Now I was an idiot with entering the contest because I couldn't upload my video for a long time and kept wondering why. Not only did I have to submit a video but 3 essay questions about who I am, memorable food experience, and any food contests I have previously entered. After re-writing the answers to these questions about 10 times due to uploading difficulties I finally gave up. I e-mailed the contest people and pleaded with them to take my youtube video and answers to the questions. I hoped for the best---and they e-mailed me back the next day and said I was entered. I guess they want another stupid person on TV.
I haven't heard anything yet so keep your fingers crossed. If you know me well----you know I can do an eating contest with the best of them. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delaney got a book from the library recently about vowels. She is a little stuck now thinking that all words are spelled "AEIOU". As you can see, I didn't tell her otherwise. She is just so cute "writing" names and "spelling" them.

My adorable Delaney with her cute outfit and do-rag that she wore to school.
Maya wore a cute outfit to school that day too along with a feather hairpiece that her teacher Ms. Camille made. Camille says it makes Maya look like Lady Gaga.
Maya and her current boyfriend Joe. Joe is about to turn one and he is moving up to the toddler room while Maya will be staying behind in the infant room. Maya will move up in January. She is about to be the oldest baby in her class. That seems so crazy to me. She will be the top dog!
One of Maya's favorite new games is to go inside the cabinet with the containers I use for Delaney and Maya and pull all of them out. They are all plastic containers so she can't hurt anything and it keeps her entertained for hours.
Bad quality because I took it on my phone. Maya loves her toy "phones" and will use anything as a device to talk to others. She cracks me up by holding a toy up to her and "talking" to someone. This video is especially funny because of her going into attack mode on me at the end. Cute thing.
I took Delaney to her friend Jacob's birthday party. It was at the Jewish Community Center and was a great party with crafts and playground time and cake. I have realized I have become quite a birthday party connosieur and know a good birthday party now when I see it...this was a good one. Didn't get any pics but this one of D and her friends on the piano. Delaney's face is so serious. She takes her piano very seriously.
Wearing a princess dress is easy---perfecting the princess smile is not.
July 8 was me and Randy's 5th anniversary. We have no pics from the celebration but we had a nice dinner out at Tsunami full of sushi, wine, and saki. I used the word "FIVE" for Randy's present. F = fun---Wii game. I = I-Tunes gift card. V = Video (Goodfellas). E = Engraved. I researched and found out the traditional 5th anniversary present is "wood" so I went on Etsy and had a man design a wooden sign engraved with our names and says Est. July 2006. Because it was our 5th anniversary I wanted to do 5 presents and for the fifth I got him something he needed---a new wallet. He was so happy with everything!!! He got me something I have wanted which is the entire Beatles collection on I-Tunes. Yay!!! I now have every Beatles album I am so happy.
A little play time with Elmo.
Look at that face.
Maya LOVES to be upside down. If you are not watching her she will throw herself backwards at any time so she can be upside down.
For some reason, Delaney spent most of the day naked. Not really sure why. We had gone to my friend Kathie's son Bert's birthday party earlier that day and it had been really really hot so maybe that's what started it but basically the rest of the day was spent naked. We had a contractor at the house doing some work and we just had to warn him. It was quite amusing actually.
We joined the fam at Little Pig's barbecue for dinner. That place is ridiculously awesome with barbecue, chicken, all kinds of vegetables, fried okra, etc....
Little pissy face had too big of a day and was a little cranky at the restaurant and basically had enough by the time we were done. Grammy and Nana got a kick out of putting her in the car and listening to her nonsense. I find it irritating---they find it amusing.
