Just capturing Maya in her silly moments of dancing and putting on her big sister's shoes make me smile. She is a goofy and clumsy little one and I just love her so.
We had Delaney's fifth birthday party out at Country Adventures in Blythewood. It was a cowgirl theme and Delaney was pumped up with her new cowgirl outfit ready to ride horses. I saw them advertised in a Columbia magazine and thought why not. We booked the party sight unseen and I was blown away when we got there. It was amazing!!!! The party is extremely organized by this nice couple who owns the farm and they do EVERYTHING for you. They have the party organized where the kids pet the animals first, then go on a hay ride, then eat hot dogs, chips and lemonade (provided by them) and then have cake. All I had to do was bring the cake and party favors. It was awesome!!!!
Little baby chicks
Delaney had this awesome cowgirl outfit on with a cute little tank shirt and capri pants but it was unseasonably cold and she had to wear a jacket. At least it was this cute pink jean one!
Both girls got pink light up cowgirl hats.
Delaney's hat was a little big so Randy and I added shelf liner and glued it in there to make it fit her head better. More on this later......
Delaney's first pony ride at her Country Adventures fifth birthday party. She was such a happy little cowgirl.
The pony rides were probably the best part of the party! Every child there rode the pony at least twice and they LOVED it! Maya loved riding on him.
The hay ride
The pink horse cake. I asked Delaney what she wanted on her birthday cake and she said a horse and a unicorn. I said that we would be riding horses at her party and not unicorns so let's just do a horse. After trying to explain this for several minutes Delaney said "Mom---you asked me what I wanted!!" Yeah--she's right. But..I decided to compromise and just do a pink horse instead. :)
Maya was a little cold and tired after the hay ride.
Hot dog time!
Delaney gets her cake at her fifth birthday party!
Cake time!
See that stuff in Delaney's hair? Yeah----that is glue. The pink hat that we tried to fix wasn't working because it was still big and the glue wasn't dry when we put it on Delaney's head so it got all stuck in her hair. Luckily we brought another cowgirl hat for her to wear and if she tried to take it off during the party I was like NOOOOOO!!!! because her poor hair was all gooped up. Poor little sticky cowgirl.
The girls were quite tired after the big party.
Opening presents is always fun!
The Star Wars shirt from Libbie was a big hit!
We had the fam over for Chinese food that night.
Maya's cupcake landed on the table so she decided to just lick it off of the table.
Maya loved the princess snorkel set Delaney got from Nutty.
Delaney's biggest present was an amazing dollhouse from me and Randy and Grammy. Mom found it at a consignment store and we went to check it out. It is a huge Victorian house with two stories and fully furnished. It even comes with bedspreads and throw pillows, a little Bible, dogs, porch furniture, a fridge full of food, etc....It is all handmade apparently by a grandpa for his grandkids and who knows why they didn't keep it in the family because it is truly amazing. Someone's loss but definitely our win! Delaney and Maya love it and I love it too!
Maya has liked to be "pink bat girl" lately and who can deny this little one anything? Certainly not me.
Maya is a very independent little child and she wanders off to play by herself a lot. I am not truly sure if she is that independent actually or just escaping a somewhat overpowering older sister. Anyway---Maya has become quite a puzzler like her sister and can put together the giant floor princess 25-piece puzzle all by herself. As I have said before, she has been rebelling against weekend naps so she gets very tuckered out. Delaney and I were doing some painting in the other room and didn't hear from Maya for a little while and when we looked in the front room this is what we found. Fast asleep on the floor right behind her completed puzzle. Love her so.
