Sunshine Daydream

This week has been great. I have had to rely on my camera on my new phone because we haven't bought a new camera yet. My good friend Tracey has let me borrow hers, THANK GOODNESS, but she needed it this weekend for her nephew's birthday party. I am so grateful to Tracey for letting me borrow it for so long. The phone camera is okay but having a real one to capture the special moments is so important. Here is Delaney sitting poolside with what I call her Hee-Haw outfit on. So cute.

We all took a dip in the pool this weekend. It was cold at first, but then you got used to it. Delaney loves her little float! Randy and I played horse while the little one was napping. He won----but next time---it's on.

Tyson has found a much cuter way to beg. Place your head on the table and stare at you longingly until you decide to give him chicken. It worked because he was really cute.

Delaney, Grammy, and Nutty and me went to the Eau Claire Festival this weekend. It was in the hood, but it was awesome!!! The crafts were absolutely amazing and the prices on the art and food was really good. Delaney loved walking around with her Grammy and Nutty. I didn't buy anything but wanted everything they had!!

Molars, Music, and Meerkats

At Delaney's one year old checkup, Dr. Moore predicted that Delaney's molars would be coming in soon. Boy was she right!!! Delaney hasn't been fussy, but she is not eating as much which is very strange for her, and she has turned into a total droolbucket. Poor little thing.

Delaney is definitely a future percussionist, just like her mommy. She jams out while playing the Balafon. The child definitely has rhythm.

Randy, Delaney and I went to the zoo this weekend. The weather was gourgeous and we had a blast!!!
I love these little meerkats.

We got to feed the giraffes and Delaney pet him somewhat gently on the head a couple of times.

Feeding the llama was great but that tongue was pretty nasty.

The goat wanted to jump over the fence almost to get to the food we were giving him.

The howler monkeys were awesome. I was making their sounds when we stopped by their islands the first time and Randy was looking at me like I was crazy. Then 10 minutes later, they started their "hoo hoo" and swinging all around and tight rope walking and Randy loved it! He understood why I was making those noises. Those monkeys are the best part of the zoo!

Randy fed the lorikeets for the first time. He looks a little uneasy here because those birds were peeing machines.

I went to dinner with the SAWWWS girls this weekend at this restaurant Rosso that was fabulous!!! We went to dinner to celebrate Seena getting into Columbia University where she will be studying theatre production and design. She moves to NYC in August and we will miss her so much but are so proud of her. I told her that if she had a small doormat I could sleep on that would be great. That's all I need for a place to stay with a good friend in New York!

Running and Rainbows

I did the Providence Women's 5-Miler this past weekend for the third time. It was great!!!! My time was 40:48 which came out to 8:10 average miles. I came in 44th out of 590 and 11th in my age group. Whoopppee!!! We had to run up Gervais St. which if anyone knows that street, is pretty rough.
Delaney and Grammy wait for me to cross the finish line.

Watching me run 5 miles really wore Delaney out.

Delaney's new trick---crawling into furniture. The chopping block in the kitchen is an excellent hiding place.

After running 5 miles, Randy and I decide to insulate our attic. This was a hot and dirty job. We decided to grill out that night and after a hard rain, there was a beautiful rainbow. Running, really nasty work, and rainbows. Really good day.

Really really small picture of me running. There was an option to order pictures from the company that sponsored the run but they were expensive and I don't think I really need a pic of me looking determined and running with my face all red. I tried to copy the pic but because of copyright issue, this is all I got. If you have a magnifying glass, you can check me out.

****** Delaney's 1-Year Check Up!!!!!!!!
* She is now 29 inches long which puts her in the 47th percentile.
* She is 19 pounds, which puts her in the 19th percentile for weight. The child eats like a horse, but is a skinny minny.
Dr. Moore says she is doing awesome and should be walking any day now. Delaney had her first vaccines in her arm and was a brave girl. She screamed for one minute and then got over it when we gave her Cheerios. That's my girl.

TRUMPS Spring Fling 2009

Delaney was in a variety show at her daycare called Spring Fling 2009. Her class, Infant 2, sang and participated in the song "Clap Clap Clap Your Hands". They all had matching outfits and it was adorable.

I videotaped the Oscar worthy performance of Miss Delaney. The not-Oscar winning performance was the director. Please excuse the running around on the video while I try to find the perfect spot and the jumping of the camera while I am clapping for Delaney. She really stole the show. :)

******Libbie's dad took a MUCH better video of the performance. Here is the link:

Happy Mothers Day!!!!

Delaney wore her new fairy princess outfit to Nutty's for brunch. It made Grammy so happy. I love it so.

Sweet Pea's Birthday Party

Delaney's big present from Randy and I was her own personalized armchair for reading or watching a movie. Delaney took the opportunity and sat down with her new book from Aunt Judy.

Delaney and her daddy watch a little Shrek on birthday party morning.

Delaney's birthday cake was awesome. I took one of the birthday party plates and cut the baby's head out and replaced it with a picture of Delaney. Publix's bakery then scanned the plate and put it right on the cake. It was fabulous.

Delaney's throne with her birthday balloons

Grammy bought Delaney her own First Birthday bear (thank goodness) since we had to give the other birthday bear back to daycare and Delaney loved snuggling with it. This Birthday Bear took over Delaney's throne.

Check out the spread! There were open-faced crab sandwiches, spinach balls, homemade pimiento cheese and hummus, fruit, and other great snacks!!!

Randy and Grammy pose before everyone arrives.

This isn't a great picture but this is Delaney's smash cake. It is white with green trim and says "Delaney" in pink in the middle.

Lorelei, Delaney (with her adorable Sweet Pea dress) and Addy. Lorelei WALKED into the party. YAY!!!!! It's your turn next Sweet Pea!!

Lorelei holds onto her momma----literally.

Nutty gives Delaney some pimiento cheese.

Lorelei and Delaney duke it out over who gets to push Quaggle Bear in the stroller.

Stan and Jessica

Nutty and Kathleen----big thanks to Kathleen for taking a lot of the pictures at the party. You are the BEST!!!

The Roberts boys and a mini Roberts

Delaney takes a break during the party to chill with her new cup.

The chaos of the presents begins. Delaney got wonderful presents. She is the luckiest girl in the world!!!

Morgan sneaks a moment in Delaney's chair.

Randy checks out Delaney's new Barbie book.

The tissue paper was very exciting.

Delaney loved her Elmo card...

...and her new book from Nana...

....and her barnyard magnetic set. "A Pig/Cow????? That's silly!!"

The winner of this year's most favoritest present is....."Hokey Pokey Elmo". Thank goodness after two-go-rounds he says "Okay. That was great...but Elmo is pooped". I think the makers of that toy are genius for adding that line.

One of my favorite presents that Delaney got was her new fairy princess/ballerina outfit from Grammy. She is wearing the headpiece here.

If you know me...you know my obsession with Tinkerbell. It makes me so happy that my little one has a little fairy outfit just like Tink.

The proud parents strike a pose.

Awaiting the cake's arrival.

When the cake first got there, Delaney was unsure and I had to let her lick some off of my finger. She then tried to stick her face in it but was held back by the high chair straps. After that, it was pure piggishness. She LOVED her smash cake and had both hands in tearing up the icing.

After about 10 minutes, Delaney slowed down and started looking a little green---and it wasn't from the icing. :)

After a bath to remove all of the cake/icing, Delaney actually got in her high chair to eat dinner. Yes---my child takes after me. She decided to wear her #1 Princess Tiara that lit up. What a diva.

Jessica hung out with Randy and I after everyone left.

She bonded with Hokey Pokey Elmo.

This is a LONG video but it is Delaney eating her "smash cake". Well worth it to see that they don't call it "smash cake" for nothing. Delaney took the "smash cake" very seriously.

Overall----the birthday party was a HUGE success. For those of you not pictured, big thanks to Tinker, Davis, Mandi, Pat, Jan, Nana, and Trey. Delaney had such a wonderful time and her first birthday was everything I had dreamed of and more. I can't believe my little Sweet Pea is now one!!!! It brings tear to my eyes---but in a good way. I have cherished every moment of this past year and will cherish every day of this next year. I love you Sweet Pea!!!!
