The girls are getting really cute together and actually playing. Delaney is loving that Maya can do more with her now and Maya just loves anything her big sister does. Even tickle her.
Delaney loves to carry Maya around like she is a little "baby". Luckily Maya doesn't seem to mind one bit and actually enjoys the attention she is finally getting from her big sister.
Punk rock
I know I have videotaped Delaney doing this song in the past but it has been a while so I thought I would do it again. The tutu and boots and Buddy Fruit in hand seem to add to the entertainment factor this go round. Maya is also a cute addition with her mesmerized by Delaney dancing and doing her own moves.
Two little girls in a chair. One happy, the other not.
Randy wanted to see what he would look like with a mustache.
Here I go again with a million pictures. My friend Jessica said Tyson (the infamous chicken nugget maker) was doing a contest for the best nugget face. I, of course, wanted to enter my fabulous two. I gave it my best shot....their faces on the pics were too cute to eliminate any.
We have another movie watcher in the fam. Yes, at 18 months, Maya loves her a little watching. She definitely doesn't have the long attention span yet but she will watch for a minute or two. Especially Yo Gabba Gabba.
Doggone sideways pic. I have switched my blog to different computer that has Windows Vista and it is damn near impossible for me. Ahh...technology. Oh well. Randy and I did this race called The Diamond Dash that was AWESOME!!! It was free to enter and the winning couple got a $12,000 diamond ring. It was a scavenger hunt around downtown Columbia done with your cell phone and you got somewhere and got a clue and then had to answer a question and if you got it correct then you got the next clue. We were all over the USC campus and the Vista. Little did I know it was a real "race", or I would have worn some better clothing because we ran at least 7 miles that day. So much fun though. We did not win but next year we will be much better prepared by learning our city a little more. That campus is confusing....
We had Morgan and Davis over to spend the night and the two princesses had the best time together. They are so BFFs.
Promise I will get better with the sideways. Maya had her 18 month checkup (62nd percentile for height and 20th for weight). I thought my little pumpkin was going to be the short squishy one but she is exactly the opposite. She will be tall and thin like her big sis. Maya is quite the diva and refused to take off her shoes during the exam. She kept saying "shoes", which is the first thing we hear from the crib when she wakes up. We definitely have a young Carrie Bradshaw in the making.
Maya's teacher Patti always sends me the cutest shots of my little one while at school. Little Miss Blue Eyes.
After about 3 weeks of Maya feeling bad because of ear infections, we realized she was finally better because Randy could finally put her down, and she started being her funny self again. Here is a fun little game she figured out of picking up all of the dog food from Tyson's bowl and moving it to Olive's bowl. She did it for about 20 minutes, feeling so very proud of herself.
The church where the girls go to daycare has the most beautiful tulips in the front in the springtime. We have taken an annual shot there and I gave it a try this year. It is really damn near impossible to get both girls looking, let alone smiling, at the camera at the same time. I went ahead and posted all of my attempts so see what I was dealing with here. No matter what, they look beautiful and the two are sitting together. Sigh.
The lollipop bribe was brought out to try to get both girls to smile at the same time....
Maya is not usually ready to curl up next to Delaney, for fear of being swatted at, so you know she is sick when she does this. We think that her first ear infection never went away because she really hasn't been herself...very needy and whiny. And she is not eating......that definitely tells you something. We scheduled a doctor's appointment so my poor baby could finally get better.
Maya fell asleep on the way to see Dr. Moore. My poor little sweet pea.
The next day after a stronger antibiotic, Maya still had to stay home from daycare but was feeling much better. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is wonderful to stay home with a "sick" baby.
After a long illness of ear infections, it was so nice to hear that giggle again.
Just a close up of my cutie pie showing off her eyes and nose.
Remember this Kiddy Lidder hat that Jessica made Delaney? Well it's Mayas now.
Maya really didn't feel well over the weekend and was feverish on and off. She woke up in the morning with quite a hairdo to prove her illness.
Little Snow White slaves away cleaning her water table. Unlike the real Snow White, Delaney loves to clean things. She scrubbed that sucker until it was shining.
Delaney loves to wear hats and she has taken ownership of the hat that I wore to my bachelorette party that my best friend Jessica made me.
This is what happens when Randy and I drink wine and watch The Exorcist. We get silly......We do let out some curse words so no children should watch. Ahhhh....the life of two parents on the weekend.....we have no life........
Now I know it isn't really reading, but Delaney is very good at memorizing books quickly and I know that is the start to early reading. Here is a library book we have only had 2 weeks and she knows almost every word. My little genius.
